COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Folie, French for "the folly," is a beer steeped in New Belgium brewing tradition. This wood-aged, sour brown spends one to three years in big, oak barrels, known as foeders. And when the beer finally hits the glass, La Folie is sharp and sour, full of green apple, cherry, and plum-skin notes. Pouring a deep mahogany, the mouthfeel will get you puckering while the smooth finish will get you smiling. Not a beer for the timid, La Folie is a sour delight that will turn your tongue on its head. Find out why it’s considered one of the best sour beers around.

On tap 2012 version. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a thick white head that leaves decent lacing. Smells, of apple, pear, cherries and oak. Tastes of all the same things in the smell and very tart. Mouthfeel is heavy and surupy but smooth and chewy with pretty good carbonation with a dry finish. Overall this is one of the best sours on the market I?ve had besides a few Russian River sours.

Pours a clear blood red with little to no head. Aroma is sour cherries and sweet dark plum marmalade. Taste is cherries, burned wood and tangerines. Sourness is well balanced and there’s a slight nice bitterness with plum and cinnamon in the after taste that lingers in the mouth.

Bottle from Elmanana. Many thanks! Red colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Aroma of red berries, balsamico, vinegar, lemon. bitter earthy notes. Refreshing, but not very well balanced. I like Rodenbach Vintage much better!

Doftar som jordgubbssylt på ristat bröd. God smak. Inte så märkvärdigt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is a heady mixture of sour cherry, balsamic vinegar, some green apple skin, sour, some red berries. Taste is somewhat sour, balsamic vinegar, red berries, sour cherry. A lot of berry and caramel on the aftertaste. Not sweet. Fairly full. Great sipper.

Butelka 65cl. OCZY : piwo ma kolor brązowy z odcieniami czerwieni. Piana jest niewielka o kolorze szarym. NOS : na pierwszy niuch piwo uderza aromatem owoców takich jakich jak wiśni, śliwek, jabłka. Sporo czuć drewna, czekolady i wanilii. Tutaj sporą rolę gra przyprawowość i rozgrzewający alkohol. ODCZUCIA : piwo ma świetną bazę słodową i bardzo wyraźne nuty zaczerpnięte z drewna. Pod każdym względem udane. Nawet kwaśność, jak na Amerykana nie jest przesadna. Warte polecenia.
