Snojerk321 (957), San Diego, California, USA Dec 6, 2007 On tap @ O’Brien’s San Diego. My first sour beer in years! And it didn’t dissapoint. Big nose of sour cherries, vinegar, and earth. Medium in body with an amber hue. Mouthfeel was hard for me to come to a conclusion on. It was a damn good beer none the less.
oakbluff (205), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 2, 2008 2008 vintage- pours a muddy deep rust colour with a vigorous initial head with excellent lacing. Nose- sweet cherries, wood, green apples and tart citrus. Taste- extremely tart and mouth puckering. Cherry taste doesn’t overpower- well blended earthy malts, horseblanket, minerals, lemon rinds. Finish is very woody and dry. Drinkability is very good with medium to high carbonation. LooseCannon (660), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2008 750ml bottle, bottled 07-3170. Thanks to immy for this one. Pours clear areddish amber in color with thin white head. Aroma strong sour cherries. Taste woody, sweet tarts, fruity and sour with dry finish. oberabcbbsok (682), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 28, 2008 Had it on bottle at Cheecky Monk at Denver. A nice and good tasting sour beer. A good and very complex beer. Colorado has a lot of good breweries kappldav123 (989), Markkleeberg, Germany Aug 28, 2008 The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Much foam, but disappears fast. Starts modest sourish, becomes increasingly sourish in the end. Very scratchy. Nice experience! riversideAK (1579), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 12, 2008 Reddish brown pour with a nice head. Aroma is tart and citric with a touch of metallic funk. A touch of sweetness up front followed by a ton of tart fruit, oak, funky yeast, cherries, lemon, vinaigrette. FInishes tart and dry and I thought it was pretty quenching. Best beer these guys make without a doubt. This might be a tad overlooked even at a 4.03 because it does not carry the hype that all these new special release beers have, but I think this is fantastic.
