COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Folie, French for "the folly," is a beer steeped in New Belgium brewing tradition. This wood-aged, sour brown spends one to three years in big, oak barrels, known as foeders. And when the beer finally hits the glass, La Folie is sharp and sour, full of green apple, cherry, and plum-skin notes. Pouring a deep mahogany, the mouthfeel will get you puckering while the smooth finish will get you smiling. Not a beer for the timid, La Folie is a sour delight that will turn your tongue on its head. Find out why it’s considered one of the best sour beers around.

Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown with an average sized light brown fizzy head that was gone before I took the first sip and had virtually no lacing to speak of. The aroma was kind of sweet with roasted cookie malts and a sweet yeast with notes of brown sugar, some dark dried fruit and a hint of sour apples. It tasted very lightly sweet and malty with a nice dried fruit note at first then WOW did it get sour real quick with a strong does of sour apple at the end. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and very dry in texture with a very lively carbonation. Overall as sour beers go this one is right up there. Very sour and very tasty. If you like sour beers this one is definitely worth a try...

Sample from Sherbrooke Liquor?s growler bar. Ric, deep red pour with a foamy light brown head. Aroma of dried fruit. Beer itself is nice and dry with tart flavours of sour cherries, prunes, apples, and figs. Definitely has a lot of flavour and complexity.

2014 La Folie, 22oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Dark reddish-brown hue, with almost fully diminishing fizzy white head. No lacing. Aroma of sour dark fruit (prunes), some dark malt, sour cherries and raspberry. Super tart cherry taste up front with more of the same finish. There was some hint of dark malt as the beer warmed a bit from start to finish. This was a dry beer, but the tartness was great. One of the best sour beers I have had so far. Awesomeness in a bottle!!!

Good tartness, but also prominently malt sweetness, ciderlike, but a bit dusty.

Stor skillnad i hantverk enligt mig. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
