Commercial Description:
Deep burnished gold with a slight haze, Le Fleur Misseur opens with pineapple, clove and honey notes. Dry-hopping produces a flower leaf aroma supported by tones of fresh bread and honey. Le Fleur finishes dry and slightly herbal. Produced for New Belgium coworkers to celebrate our 15th anniversary, Le Fleur has roots in the earliest days of our history. In 1988 founder Jeff Lebesch sat weary on the side of a Belgian road when a young lad passing by picked a delicate yellow flower and offered it to Jeff. “Le Fleur, Misseur?” Jeff misspelled the boy’s comment in his journal as he accepted the offering. A treasured memory, a beer to treasure. Brewed in honor of the New Belgium’s 15th anniversary. It is a tip of the hat to Orval.

22oz. bomber served in the new style Boulevard Chalice. Pour a pale straw with a thin white head. Aroma is promising with citrus and a hint of brett. Light bodied, fairly dry with spritzy carbonation. A little grain, some Belgian style sugar flavor. A bit of an acrid flavor in the finish. Not a whole lot going on here. I was a bit disappointed. It would be interesting to see if some time would bring out the brett a bit more.

Hazy gold color. Sour type of smell. Light flavor. Upfront taste is watery with a bite of sour bite. Finish has dry flavors. Interesting but definitely not as good as I was hoping.

Bottle from Liquor Max in Loveland. Pours hazy gold with a large bubbly white head. Aroma has light funk note over a lot of citrus, floral and breadiness. Medium plus body with firm carbonation. Flavor is estery/yeasty, fruity, and an overall funkiness. Or it could be some herb I’m not familiar with, but funk works for me. Finishes a bit fruitier than it started. Just plain delicious.

22oz Lips of Faith Bomber 9/3/09 (Sam’s Wine & Spirits-Downers Grove)-Pours a slightly hazy golden with a decent sized white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast , lemon, and herbs. Taste of the same with a bit more yeast, floral, citrus, and hops coming through. This medium bodied brew is quite tasty and well balanced. Good job.

Bomber. Slightly lemony, farty, cheese aroma. Nice, dryish, bitter, lavender flavor, with a bit of chemicals in the finish. An Orval clone, I guess, but not particularly well executed.

Blonde with good, creamy white head / Lovely, perfumey, nose of bread, lemon, violets, and lemongrass / Light to medium body, creamy, with excellent balance and slightly hoppy finish / Mellow, smooth, resinous flavors of lemongrass, pineapple, violets, cloves, marjoram, coriander, and cream / A blonde ale? Outstanding.

22oz bomber, no date.Clear golden with a one finger off-white head, good retention. Fruity (pineapple), floral, and lightly herbal hoppy nose with some faint lemon and Belgian yeast behind. The flavor had hoppier herbal notes with the florals a little diminished. Not as much pineapple, either. Semi-dry earthy finish with bitterness @ a 3. Light to medium body with light prickly carbonation. Would like to revisit this once the brett kicks in more with the flavor.

Bottle. Cloudy look with a nice foamy white head. Golden yellow in color. The smell is yeast, citrus, floral, hops, and pear. The taste is yeasty, hops, floral, citrus, and fruits. Ok.
