4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Gold with good, creamy, white head / Clean nose of honey, resin, and grain / Medium body, creamy and smooth, lightly sweet, with good balance and long finish / Flavors of honey, violets, banana, and grain / Very nice in a mild but not sure how it compare to a true Belgian blonde. The Belgian character is modest. Reminds me of an imperial pilsner.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 28, 2010 Bottle from Samís in Durham. Pours light clear golden with a nice, pillowy white head. Nose is grassy and slightly grainy. Green apples, some citrus, mild grassy hops and some slight earthy, almost barnyard notes. Hints at some funk--if I sniff hard enough, I swear there are some gueuze-y notes-- but doesnít really ever fully deliver. Tastes like a sweet pilsner in some ways, with the hops really fading behind the sweetness. Disappointing at first in that itís different than expected... after it about 8 ounces, it started growing on me.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
14 karat pour with a pillowy white head that left rings inside the glass. Ample carbonation in this one. Lots of banana, lemongrass, Granny Smith apples, caramel, and candied sugar. Floral nose that also shows some vanilla. Sweet as the style would indicate. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours pale golden, with a thick off-white head, very good and clinging lacing. Aromas of grass, biscuit, caramel, apple, and banana. Light bodied, crisp, lively, and lightly tart. Mild sweetness, balanced by medium bitterness starting mid-palate, a bit of citrus, mild bitter earthy finish. A little more aggressively hopped than the typical New Belgium beer. Hides the alcohol content well, very drinkable.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour is clear golden yellow with a thin big bubble and sticky bright white head that did not stick around for too long...smell is faintly sweet and lemony at first with an esthery perfume thing happening to it...some hints of dirt or dust are in there too....taste is strongly sweet and very onesided...some vanilla and perfumey flavors and hints of boozey sweetness...very thin and sadly disappointing....fortunately this has a relatively quick finish...
