COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Famous in Michigan for farmhouse ales, our friends at Brewery Viviant introduced us to their biere de garde ale yeast strain. From there, we imagined a slightly tart, intentionally dry beer with hints of bergamot citrus that pairs perfectly with French cheeses.

Bomber. Mostly clear, golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is a mixture of yeast, sourdough and citrus. Funky cheese-like flavor. Leaves a slight sour aftertaste that makes your mouth pucker. Average carbonation with a mostly dry texture. Different, but I preferred the traditional Biere de Garde previously offered in this series.

This brew is a clear pale orange color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma contains citrus, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of mildly tart fruit, earthy yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is fruity with a fresh citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

A healthy dose of citrus n’ spice on the nose. Pours crystal clear, bright yellow pilsner hue. Slightly tart with a nice dry finish, the Vivant farmhouse yeast is well represented. I think the only problem I have with this Beir de Garde is starting gravity or mash temp may have been too high resulting in too think of a mouthfeel (almost syrupy like). Other then that no complaints. Lips of Faith treats us well.
