bottle, from Triangle Wine. good aroma, funky sweet. big yeasty funky scent with a sweet apple, pear, orange scent. Clean brownish orange color. Small head that faded quickly to a ring, spotty lace. sweet flavor. Light body, creamy mouthfeel, sweet dry finish. Good, not exciting me. I dunno, maybe my mood, just not grabbing me in the scheme of things.

Draft. The aroma is pretty hoppy. There is also some sweetness. The appearance is a hazy golden with a creamy head. The taste starts out kinda lemon zesty and finishes kinda hoppy. Has a fruity sweetness in the middle. The palate is nice. Overall, this is a good beer. Well done.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jstraw (1697) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Yellow-gold with good, creamy & foamy white head / Fruity nose of tropical & orchard fruit, coconut, and malolactic fermentation / Medium to full body, fruity, sweet with a lot of dry, oak astringency? in the middle, good balance and lightly bitter finish / Flavors of pineapple, apple, pear, peach, clove, ginger, and oak / A little bigger and sweeter than I would prefer, but very well done. The description comment about pairing with French cheese is right on.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bacterial (467) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Draft at New Belgium Hub at the Denver Airport. Golden pour with a thick white head. Fruity and slightly funky nose. Sweet, a touch of sour and a touch of farmhouse funk. A nice beer, perhaps kept a little too commercial with the sweetness.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ughsmash (6723) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Bomber. Poured fairly bright yellow with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up sour, metallic fruit skins and citrus paired with a bit of sweet berry.. a bit of clove and ginger too.. a bit of dry funk accented.. I really didn’t get it. The flavor found the same tangy, metallic character throughout, along with dry floral and fruity funk.. orange peel and light white spices around.. finished dry and funky, but not that enjoyable. Medium-bodied, tangy, and dry on the palate.. somewhat tacky at times.. finished with strong, bitter warmth.. this just didn’t do it for me.

A nice beer, good for summer drinking. On tap at Venti’s. A dull lemon (nice- opposed to shocking or sour) with a slight hint of cloves. Light sticky head, dark yellow in color.
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION:
New Belgium, and Michigan’s own, Brewery Vivant, each stuck a hand in the mitten for this wonderful collaboration. A bright Biere de Garde with a pale copper sheen, this beer is brewed with pale malt, and some oats for creaminess. Hopped with Sorachi Ace to reinforce the citrus bite from the bergamot addition, the Brewery Vivant Collaboration is refreshing, and strong. A hint of clove from Vivant’s house yeast brings a spice bite to the extra dry finish. Enjoy with friends.

Pours a clear pale golden with a full eggwhite head. Aroma is sour fruit and yeast. Taste is farmhouse all the way. Lots of sweet pale malt along with a slight mustiness from the wild yeast which also imparts a pleasant mild sourness to round it out. Nice effort!
