3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color is a cloud of peachy orange, kinda murky with lots of yeasty chunks floating around adding to the murk. Small dirty whitish head that fades to a thin ring and lace is fast dripping strings. Smell barely has anything to it, just light notions of citrus and muskyness like a damp basement. Taste is mild in tone, super dulled citrus of mango and old bananas and peaches. Malt laden chewyness and smoothness with touches of mild spice and a dryish finish lending sweet bread and honey. Feel is smooth and lighter then medium in body with a nice finish thats quite subtle and complex in effects of its drying. A nice drinker, smooth and mellow with a relaxing quality throughout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark orange; creamy (colour and consistency)head. Very slight malt in the nose. Sourish, gingerish, peppery hints in the taste on a very malty base. Not half bad. Medium-bodied, slick feeling in the throat. Nice. Quite drinkable, which I find difficult with anything swarming towards ginger. The French bière de Mars is not really considered Saison, though...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden amber pour with a smallish head. Hoppy citrus nose. Nice floral flavors with hints of fruits. Very smooth palate with a floral finish. Great saison, suprised it came from New Belgium.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fat celestial white head. Golden orange cloudy color. Inviting citrusy aroma. All the flavors balance perfectly on the tongue. You can taste the dry bitterness in the end as the hops and malt make their presense. The beer loses its spark after a certain time, best fresh. Another winner from New Belgium.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2005 Warm, honey-colored body with medium carbonation and a tight sudsy white head. Interesting and novel citrus character presumably from both the yeast and lemon verbena. Nice peppery edge. Moderate plastic phenols. Lightly toasted, biscuity malt underbelly with honey tones. Fruity esters suggesting sweet bananas come to the front in the flavor. Considerable malty character for a saison with hints of butter and nuts. Also has a light woody character and a nice subtle touch of barnyard. Long finish with some mild but noticeable hop flavor and bitterness. Seems like it could be drier and fuller. Has a slight syrupy effect on the tongue. Does seem to dry out and improve with some modest cellaring. This is an enjoyable and unique beer overall that’s always worth revisiting from time to time.
