COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

Growler from the Libation Station in Johnson City, TN. Pours a hazy rust color with a medium offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of musty tartness, citrus, caramel, lavender. Taste is oats, caramel, bread, spice, citrus, plum, floral and earthy notes, and a faintly tart finish. Medium bodied and fairly strongly carbonated. Texture is smooth and almost creamy. Good beer.

Deep, hazy golden/orange color. Large, rocky white head. Mostly lasting with excellent lacework. The nose holds notes of soap, citrus and vineous fruit. The flavor is malty and lightly sweet up front, then balanced out nicely on the backside with lightly bitter and astringent citrus fruit peel flavors. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and very fizzy carbonation. Short, astringent and very dry finish. Citrusy and tart at the wee end. Very refreshing Spring beer! Thanks to jskendzel for this brew!

Tasted from a bomber purchased in Denver, Colorado. Pours a hazy burnt orange body with a larger white head. Yeast, sour citrus fruits and a great Belgian ale aroma. Flavor is a nice lighter Belgian ale body that’s somewhat spicy, somewhat yeasty. Body is fairly malty with some sour citrus fruits in there. Delicious beer.

On draught at Mangia Italiano in St. Louis (under Lips of Faith line). The beer is a cloudy golden-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of fruits and yeast plus some earthy malt. Medium body with flavors of funky fruit, malt and yeast. The finish is fruity and has a bready and earthy malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap at CK. Clear deeper orange with a thicker yellowish head. Webby, weak lace. Nose is sugary and sticky malty with sweetened cherries. Taste is sticky, applely, blander with mealy apple and mineral water tinged with mild butter and powdery sweet rolls. Overly sweet and bland overall. Not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of doughy malt - not much on the nose really. Flavour of dry bread, wheat and maybe some yeast - similarly bland flavour profile. Pointless beer to me, yet dry and refreshing. Decent enough I suppose.
