5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I was surprised how much I loved this beer. It sounded interesting, and tasted absolutely delicious. Like a spicy hot chocolate, but cool and refreshing.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Growler from Breeze In, Juneau AK.
The appearance was a light golden amber color. One finger white foamy head that dissipates within about a minute and leaves the same sticky slightly coated looking lacing clingy to the sides of the glass.
The smell uh...where’s the chocolate? Huh? No where to be found no matter how much I let it warm, however, there is a slight cinnamon aroma trying to come through and its mainly coming through like an American Blonde Ale.
The taste had a bland malty sort of cinnamon-ness; no aftertaste, and a quick dry finish trying to pummel my tastebuds.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium, somewhat sessionable, carbonation seems ok for the "herbed/spiced" style and yes, I realize this is a chocolate/chile beer, but am not getting as much as I had hoped for.
Overall, God, I really hope I’m not becoming a beer critic here, but all I have to say is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, and this is a growler fill, if it wasn’t for the cinnamon, I’d say this is an American Blonde Ale in disguise, I most likely won’t have this again and am now wondering about New Belgium - what are they up to these days? Really, guys? What is this?

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at DdC with Streets, Ricky, Andrew, PJ and Brendan. Actually my favorite beer of the night. Pours a deep reddish black body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and additional spices. Mouthfeel is rich vanilla cake, chocolate syrup, caramel candy and cinnamon spice. Great desert beer executed nicely.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Overall: fantastic and boldly flavored. No lack of flavor at all! Strong pepper.. Great mole and cinnamon spice flavor. Slight hop bitterness on the finish brings it all together. The only drawback is that is does come off slightly cloying. However, Appearance: pale orange, with fizzy white head, great clarity

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Un nez tourbé avec des élans de fèves de cacao brutes, chili, caramel. Le tout prend forme une fois en bouche, le corps est moyen et collant, finale chaude d’alcool et de brûlure pimentée.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is the third bomber I’ve had of this beer. It is exceptional.
Pours a cherry hued brown with little foam formation and no lace. The nose on this beer is insane, probably in my top five noses. cinnamon, cocoa, chili, sugar, coffee (just the slightest), grain, malt; these come together and honestly remind me of cinnamon toast crunch cereal - fucking awesome. Great cinnamon and cereal flavor with a good sharp burn at the rear of the palate. Really dig this beer. I’m worried about it’s aging potential, so I’m drinking the shit out of it while I can. Medium bodied with prickly carb and an off dry finish. Really hope this becomes an annual release, they really hit it out of the park here.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from J’s in Thomasville. Clear deep brown pour with a bubbly tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of smoked ancho chiles, cinnamon spice, peppers with lighter notes of chocolate and roast. Flavor is pretty similar with a medium body and a decent amount of peppers shinning through and hiding everything else. Not bad.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours clear brown with no head to speak of. The aroma has tons of chocolate, tons of cinnamon, clove, more spices. The taste is a nice mix of chocolate, cinnamon, nd then a spicy, pepper finish.

Brown sugar toasted wood molasses. Spicy chipoltle. This could go on and on... My taste buds are on fire. A meal? Maybe some dessert? A fine ale for any occasion.
