Say hola to a spiced up ale full of cocoa and ancho, guajillo, chipotle peppers. But don’t fear the heat, because plenty of caramel and chocolate malts bring a smooth, complex flavor. Scents of cinnamon when poured will have your saying "¡Ole For Mole!"

22 oz bottle from Red Dog. Poured at room temperature. Pours a deep amber to light brown body with a lasting ring of beige head. Aromas of cocoa, cinnamon, like the aroma of that cinnamon roll shop in the mall. Flavors first hit with chipotle, including a touch of smoke, and other fruitiness of the peppers followed by caramel, cinnamon, and chocolate. Finish is mildly spicy and sweet cinnamon, like a red hot.

"totally surprised by this brew. looks like a porter. the smoothness completely covers the 9% abv. aroma and flavor has a nice cocoa edge to it, with subtle but not hiddedn chillies. the cinnamon wins me over, though, in the nose and taste. perfect useage...better than any spiced examples i;ve had to date. bought another bottle even though the price is steep."

A perfect balance with all of the peppers, caramel and chocolate! A great Lips of Faith addition.

serious weirdness going on with this beer!!! strong spicy almost cinnamon smell at the beginning. spicy notes of hotness offset by a clear chocolate maltiness. cant wait to open up my bottle in my cellar!!

A dark reddish brown beer. The aroma is pure chocolate. The flavor is milk chocolate and sugar with some spiciness.

Growler from Breeze In, Juneau AK. The appearance was a light golden amber color. One finger white foamy head that dissipates within about a minute and leaves the same sticky slightly coated looking lacing clingy to the sides of the glass. The smell uh...where’s the chocolate? Huh? No where to be found no matter how much I let it warm, however, there is a slight cinnamon aroma trying to come through and its mainly coming through like an American Blonde Ale. The taste had a bland malty sort of cinnamon-ness; no aftertaste, and a quick dry finish trying to pummel my tastebuds. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium, somewhat sessionable, carbonation seems ok for the "herbed/spiced" style and yes, I realize this is a chocolate/chile beer, but am not getting as much as I had hoped for. Overall, God, I really hope I’m not becoming a beer critic here, but all I have to say is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, and this is a growler fill, if it wasn’t for the cinnamon, I’d say this is an American Blonde Ale in disguise, I most likely won’t have this again and am now wondering about New Belgium - what are they up to these days? Really, guys? What is this?

Draft at DdC with Streets, Ricky, Andrew, PJ and Brendan. Actually my favorite beer of the night. Pours a deep reddish black body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and additional spices. Mouthfeel is rich vanilla cake, chocolate syrup, caramel candy and cinnamon spice. Great desert beer executed nicely.

Overall: fantastic and boldly flavored. No lack of flavor at all! Strong pepper.. Great mole and cinnamon spice flavor. Slight hop bitterness on the finish brings it all together. The only drawback is that is does come off slightly cloying. However, Appearance: pale orange, with fizzy white head, great clarity

Un nez tourbé avec des élans de fèves de cacao brutes, chili, caramel. Le tout prend forme une fois en bouche, le corps est moyen et collant, finale chaude d’alcool et de brûlure pimentée.

Clear brown color with light tan head. Cocoa powder, light roast, cinnamon aromas. Medium body with average carbonation. Nice cinnamon, chocolate, nutty flavors with some mild chili burn to finish----good

This is the third bomber I’ve had of this beer. It is exceptional. Pours a cherry hued brown with little foam formation and no lace. The nose on this beer is insane, probably in my top five noses. cinnamon, cocoa, chili, sugar, coffee (just the slightest), grain, malt; these come together and honestly remind me of cinnamon toast crunch cereal - fucking awesome. Great cinnamon and cereal flavor with a good sharp burn at the rear of the palate. Really dig this beer. I’m worried about it’s aging potential, so I’m drinking the shit out of it while I can. Medium bodied with prickly carb and an off dry finish. Really hope this becomes an annual release, they really hit it out of the park here. Serving type: bottle 03-03-2012
