1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Backlog. Taster at RFD. I hate this beer. It is an experiment gone wrong. To be fair, it never really had a chance with me, as I don’t like hefeweizens or putting a ton of spices in beer. That said, it is even worse than I anticipated. Combining all the banana wrongness of a hefe with a spicebomb mess is just a recipe for awful, and in that they succeeded. Read the flavor description, throw up a little in your mouth, and there you go.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma is like coconut and curry spice (surprise) with heff spiced undertones. Smooth bodied with over-done spiced coconut, pepper taste. Golden in color with strong white head. I understand the experiment, which is fun, just doesn’t make for a good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[Tap] Pours a milky yellow color. Extremely cloudy pour with a large head of dense head. Aromas of curry powder, cinnamon, vanilla and hot peppers. Curry flavor is more subdued. Coconut flakes, ginger, banana, vanilla, nutmeg and citrus flavors. A lot going on here. Good body. Creamy texture. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I enjoy any attempt at new and interesting flavors. This is one of only two beers that I know of that uses curry. And this one uses it well.
Aroma - very mild
Head - standard to good
Taste - a nice mild curry, the curry mostlymasks the hef wheat taste
Appearance - standard hef with small white chunks (coconut perhaps)

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy gold with a whitehead. I get some strong curry notes as well as some wheat, lime, cinnamon, pepper and coconut. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
22oz bottle in a stem glass. Pours hazy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of spices and ginger and weirdness, some light banana notes, light malts and wheat. Flavor the same, mainly the weirdness and ginger. Average texture. Not good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"The other spices definitely take a back seat to the coconut and curry. More heat and this could be a wheat version of the stout Indra Kunindra. Absolutely loved the aftertaste. 8% doesn’t show at all except as a bigger body than most wheats. Really nice change of direction. If you dig curry, you’ll like this."

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 2/20
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2014 Bottle: Super hazy, dim yellow body with floating sediment all around; foamy white head is reduced instantly to a thin ring. Looks like chunks of coconut in my glass... Dafuq. Aroma of coconut suntan lotion & plastic. Weird off-putting smell. Light spices, maybe, but they are all indiscernible. Very, very faint banana taffy under the plastic. Taste is spiced curry, coconut milk, ginger, with a huge medicinal off-tone. Staunch yeasty flavor, but not the lovely hefe yeast like you’d expect. Phenolic & gross. This beer sucks ass.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Brews Brothers in Middleton, WI - Pours hazy golden with a filmy white head. Nose is ginger and clove with a light wheat base. Taste is lots of maple syrup, clove, ginger, and light malt. It’s really spicy, but it’s pretty tasty. Too much maple syrup, and no hefe notes at all.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I like this one. I shared with family )and didn’t have the proper glassware due to being camping). Smells of a bit of spice. Drinking has a bit of peppery spice and follows up at the end with coconut. The coconut lingers more at the end than throughout the taste. This was one that five tried, and three liked. Two didn’t taste any coconut.
I am definitely going to grab another bottle of this and drink it myself. It was what it stated it was...a beery that has curry and coconut flavor. Nothing artificial tasting.
This is not for everybody, but out of the more unique beers, this is towards the top of my favorites.
