3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at hop and vine fire and brimstone fest infused with Thai chili peppers - pours cloudy golden, little head. Nose is amazing blend of coconut, curry, and sweet spice. Taste is of coconut milk and pepper with sweet malt. Would be perfect with Thai food.

Ouch. I exotic and weird beers but this just tasted bad. Poured from a bottle a very hazy straw color. Aroma is coconut spices yeast curry. Flavor follows but also had a solventy rubbery taste. Medium bodied. Finishes slightly sweet. Almost couldn't finish it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle. Pours an unclear straw orange with a one inch white head. Taste is of yeast, citrus, spice, malt, coconut, fruit, nutmeg, banana, cinnamon, pepper and ginger. Similar aroma. Has a nice warming body with a clean finish. Leaves the mouth feeling clean. An interesting beer, to say the least, but the Hefeweizen part seems a bit overshadowed.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours cloudy orange with a light white head. The aroma has an odd spiciness, cream, bananas, curry and light heat. It has a medium / full body that is quite smooth and there is minor semi-soft carbonation. The taste has banana and coconut up front, light creaminess and mild spice. The finish shows more of the curry and herbal spice. I thought this was pretty good, but wouldn’t want it too often.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
So this guy is pretty strange, but I do like it. Unfortunately there are some small pieces that float in the beer which knock down the appearance (looks like spice that is stuck together). Aroma and taste is not so much bready as it is filled with cinnemon and nutmeg and curry. The coconut is faint, but good. For experimental, I give it thumbs up.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours hazy golden with almost no head, but a steady stream of carbonation. Delightfully complex aroma with strong notes of coconut, coriander, and lime. Flavor follows suit with Belgian yeast and a bit of lingering heat from the pepper and ginger. I’m sure there are purists out there who frown on this type of unconventional brew, but I really enjoyed it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle into signature globe glass; bottled in June 2013. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with decent retention, that reduces to a ring of lace that lingers. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big banana, pear, apple, coconut, clove, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne, ginger, wheat, bread, floral, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and unique aromas with good complexity and decent balance of hefeweizen, coconut, and spice notes; with good strength. Spices were overpowering in the nose. Taste of big banana, pear, wheat, bread, coconut, clove, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, lime, light bubblegum, floral, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of banana, pear, wheat, bread, coconut, clove, cinnamon, ginger, coriander, light bubblegum, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of malt, yeast, and spice flavors; with a great malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice spiced hefeweizen style. Aromas were overpowering with spices, but the taste was extremely well balanced and delicious. A very enjoyable offering.

Weird beer! Good, though! Straight up, decent Hefe Weizen with notes of coconut, curry (light), and cinnamon. Try it!

Tap. Hazy orange. Smells of fresh curry spices. The taste is not as crazy as expected. Definitely a bite though.

Tasting at Bruce’ s pad. Very hazy gold beer with a small white head. Smooth palate with light fine carbonation and a little dryness. Sweetish floral coconut with a nice twist oif curry leaves and kaffir lime. Light rose! Mellow chilli heat. Touch of bubblegum ester. Creamy finish with mild chilli linger. Very unusual and pretty tasty beer. Here#s to many more wacky experiments from New Belgium!
