3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Feels much like a red wine, dry, but with a wood-like, apple-sour vibe to it. Really drinkable and rather tasty all-around. Goes surprisingly well with some nice strong licorice. Itís approachable, but I think only if youíre into this sort of funky beer (which I am!)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark orange-brown, with an effervescent tan head that dissipates pretty quickly. Clear, with lots of visible bubbles. Dark cherry and grape flavor in the nose, with malts. Somewhat light aroma. In the flavor: heavy sweetness and cherry tartness. Not a ton of complexity, just sticking to the basics: sour cherries in the front, toasty malt in the back. Also some subtle notes of oak from wood-aging. Light body and medium to high carbonation plays nicely with the sourness. Not overly tart, overly sweet or overly anything. Very well-balanced and drinkable.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"pours a red tinged brown, light on the head. medium to thin bodied, with a pleasant aroma that you have to work a little too hard to find, which is a bit of a setback, but then the flavor was just so good that i forgot about the beers other shortcomings. Similar to the aroma, but no longer so subtle. Complex flavor of tart and then sweet cherries, a touch of chocolate, and a touch of oak, all over a nice malty brown ale. well done. iím not sure i like it more or less than Lindemanís Kriek (and definitely not as much as a New Glarus Belgian Red) due to the lesser aroma and body, but the flavor was great and itís a very enjoyable brew."

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Ryan and Jodiís with friends. Pour is deep brown with a light red tint and frothy tan head - decent lacing. Caramelly, toffee, brown sugar, tart cherries, ligh oxidation, bread, and wood in the aroma. Taste is sour cherries, raspberry skins, caramel, bread, light cardboard, and brown sugar with a lightly sour finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Seems to have held up decently.

22oz bottle -
This beer was really a pleasure to consume, even though the surroundings of consuming it was a letdown (a Raiders loss). The aroma starts things off with a great balance of wood, sweet cherries, tart/acidicness and something close to sparkling wine. Flavor pulls off a crazy-good combination of chocolate covered cherries, vinegar, raspberry yogurt, light leather and toffee. Insanely well balanced. A bit on the pricey side, but donít pass it up if you can find it. Well, well worth the $$$.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear copper red from the bottle with no real head or lacing. Aroma is sour fruits, with a nice sweet malt backbone. Taste is lacking compared to aroma, more of the fruitiness than the sour qualities. Not too bad, but wish the flavor lived up to the nose.

Pours a clear amber/ruby with a lt tan head. Aroma is nice sweet cherry. Flavor follows suit with nice refreshing tartness. Mouthfeel is light with a tart finish that has some cherry but begs for more.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
2009 bottle @ home, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! JetsonFest II. Cloudy, a touch reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Smells pretty goopy, old caramel malty, toffee, light fruity, fairly sweet aroma. A bit off-putting, possibly showing its age. The cherry fruitiness comes through more in the flavor along with some tartness but thereís still some less desirable flavors of old caramel and molasses. Not horrible, but I remember this being a lot better when I had it 2-3 years ago fairly fresh.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, 2009, thanks Amy! Dark reddish brown pour with thin white head, aroma has notes of dark fruit, caramel, molasses, cherry some hints of earth and grass, very interesting, no tartness. Taste is big molasses, some slight caramel, toffee, hints of caramel, some hints of cherry juice, slight tartness, finishing fairly sweet but dry and with a hint of tartness. Past its prime but interesting.

Clear red-brown beer. Neutral to slightly crisp palate, a little dry. Very light tart cherry well blended with even malt. Some very subtle woodiness. Not bad, well joined up and goes down easy.
