COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Experimentation doesn’t mean new. With our Gruit, the latest Lips of Faith release, it’s all about revisiting the ancient craft of bittering with herb mixtures, not hops. In here horehound, bog myrtle, yarrow, wormwood and elderflowers get together with rich malts to create a bitter, dry, velvet-like sweetness worth revering.

Bottle. I really like beers that brew outside the box. This one was pretty good. Golden in color with a medium, two finger head, Aroma was slightly fruit with the herbs. Taste was also fruity with herbs taking upfront flavor.

Golden colour, slightest haze, white head. Herbal aroma, apricot, malts. Fruity flavour, mango, sweet peach. Fruity finish. Rather nice.

Poured a lightly hazy light amber with an off white head. Aroma of liquorice and toffee, biscuit malt. Medium body, flavour is heavily sweet, lightly bitter, moderately spicy. Not particularly well balanced.

On tap at 28 Springs. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with two fingers of creamy white foam. Aroma is floral and herbal with slight corn. Flavor follows with a very clean dry finish. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy golden. Totally different bittering and herbal notes without the hops, but still works. This one makes you think. Somewhat bready and floral and bit odd at the finish. Subtle saison notes. Interesting, yet tasty.

Bottle. Sweet mango, spicy floral, and bready-yeasty aroma - as it warmed a cinnamon type note developed. Golden yellow with a small white head. Sweet fruity, bready malt, yeast, and bitter herbal flavor with a slightly saccharine type bitterness in the finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bomber from Sonoma Cellars, cellar aged about 8 months. Golden pour with a white head leaving coats of lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma has earth and hay and sweet light fruits and lemon and spices. Taste is of sweet fruits, lemons, spices. Somewhat earthy. A bit of a belgian tang as well. Medium bodied. Finishes sweetly fruity with spices. A bit strange, but enjoyable. Was not sure what to expect, and thought’d bought something else. 13.8

Tasty! Pours hazy yellow, with a fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and berry. Full bodied, very smooth. Elderberries shine through in the finish.

BBD 1/15. Pours a slightly cloudy pale gold. Very good head volume, excellent lacing and normal retention. Light nose of lemon like citrus over a subtle biscuit sweetness with a touch of pepper spice. Almost medium in body with a smooth texture that has oily moments and a touch of creaminess. Normal carbonation with a touch of effervescence in the middle and a lively finish. The delightful flavor profile is World Class. It is intense, quite complex and superbly balanced. It begins with a blend of slightly sweet citrus that slowly separates into lemon, pineapple and, surprisingly, peach. In the middle, a subtle herbal bitterness emerges, with a clove note, over a biscuit sweetness that then effervesces into a pepper note. The finish is a lingering fade of herbal flavor over a subtle biscuit graininess and sweetness. My first Gruit, and it is outstanding.
