Oh my God. It’s not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciel’s beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewery’s name. Just ask our brewmaster, he’s in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciel’s love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is fruity and a little funky, can definitely tell it will be tart. Flavor is tart as expected, some apple flavors. Finishes rather dry. Wife: 3.8

On tap at the brewery, this pours golden orange with a solid ivory head leaving suds lace. The nose has esters, tangerine and funk. Tart tangerine and nectarine with mild yeast funkiness and a crisp finish. Goes down the palate juicy and makes a yummy interpretation of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the brewery. Very sweet and tart, especially for a tripel. Off-putting to some of my buddies as they were expecting something more traditional. Given my penchant for sours, I really enjoyed it.

Poured a clear, golden color with a quickly dissipating white and soapy head. Aroma is orange peel, floral, honey, lemon, and a slight bit of alcohol. Taste is a sour and tart burst that mellows out to a nice and fruity belgian. Interesting beer.

Sugar and tropical flowers in the nose. Tart and fruity, like passion fruit. Almost tastes like a STARBUCKS hibiscus cooler, but better.

Draft at EVO Pizza. Cloudy pale golden pour with a thick white head head that laces. Standard Belgian tripel aroma of candi sugars, yeasts, spice and tart sour apples. I guess thats the feijoa fruit. Flavor is similar and on the drier side but the fruit definitely fills up the body to finish it dry and spicy. Very interesting.

Bottle many thanks to Adam. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet..hay, straw, spice, melon, pear, apple, white grape, icing sugar and toast. The taste is white grape, vinous, melon, pear, straw, hay pleasant tartness, alcohol warmth and a touch of spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty interesting stuff. A lot of tart white wine stuff going on.

A steady pour into my teku glass produces a two finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a rich amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, bright amber hue with gold touches around the edges when held up to the light. The aroma smells fruity, spicy and floral with a malt backbone; hibiscus notes, perhaps a touch of carnation, maybe some ginger, and some spicy alcohol notes. This is perhaps a touch tart smelling, which accentuates the fruit character.

Tart tasting, with a sour fruit like character that is rich with berry notes, floral hibiscus, with a touch of pepper in the finish, perhaps even a touch of cherry like character. Medium full bodied, with some viscosity and palate coating character, it definitely makes it a chewy beer, though this is not overly heavy. The malt character plays a supporting role here with a touch of brown cracker malt, and perhaps a touch of straw like character.

Not bad, in fact it is interesting with the slight tartness and fruit character. The floral and fruit character is what defines the personality of this beer.

Bottle part of lips of faith mini tasting. Aroma floral, tropical, citrus. Pale color, hazy, minimal head. Taste lightly tart, fruit juice in the taste as well. Floral comes across somewhat weedy sometimes. Medium body, lively carb, slightly tart finish, short finish. Overall - nice, great drinking on the deck with friends on this weekend away. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
