Oh my God. It’s not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciel’s beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewery’s name. Just ask our brewmaster, he’s in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciel’s love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

On tap at Stubbys MKE beer week 2013. Golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with mild citrus and floral notes. Taste if farmhouse meets wine bottle with yeast, tannins and some malt.

Poured into a tulip glass and had a lot of white bubbly head and had great lacing as I drank the beer. Color was like that of toasted wheat grain. Smell was mostly of tart yeast, and tangy citrus. Taste was interesting; like a Belgian triple mixed with a Berliner weisse. Medium body and highly carbonated. My first of the Lips of Faith series, and I was looking forward to this due to the Dieu du Ciel collab. Not particularly great.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a thin, white head. Flowery aroma with a hint of light berries. Dry taste with some berries and malt. Light tart. Slight sense of the alcohol, Nice little Belgian brew.

Crisp copper glow with an orange tint and a good, two centiemtre tall tan head - not much movement, but still nice looking, slightly above average. Aroma of hay, grass, alcohol, wheat, yeast, sugars and some honey - all with a nice floral bite at the end. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong floral and herbal notes throughout in the taste with a hint of sourness, a little funk and barnyardie flavour, but a good dose of malt, wheat, yeast and alcohol. Aftertaste shows some more sour and tart notes, a little lactic taste, some shades of herbs and spices and a lot of wheat, sugars, alcohol and even some complexity. Overall, an interesting take on a trip, but I don’t think it works so well - neat to try, but the spices/herbs add some characteristics that may work with a biere de garde or a blonde/wheat ale, but don’t show off a tripel too nicely. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Arrowine in Arlington, Virginia on 12-March-2013 for US$8.99 sampled at home in Washington on 15-October-2013.

Cloudy pearlescent orange. Smells of soap slight smoke and caramelized malt. So sweet and fragrant like a wine. The taste is so overwhelming only at the end do the flavors start to sort themselves out.

Pours clear sunset golden with some deep amber at the top with a big creamy beige head. Aroma is light sweet sweet tropical fruit and a bit of caramel malts. Flavor brings pleasant tropical fruits, a hint of tart on the dry ending, and some clean booze bites but so super smooth.
