COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oh my God. It’s not only a reaction for drinking one of Dieu De Ciel’s beers, but a figurative translation of the Montreal brewery’s name. Just ask our brewmaster, he’s in heaven when drinking this collaborative tripel, inspired by Dieu De Ciel’s love of hibiscus and Belgians love of the obscure, hence our addition of tart feijoa fruit. Cheers!

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, clear red pour with fizzy but fluffy off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, tart tropical fruits with pineapple, lychee, star fruits, hints of mango in there, going right into floral hibiscus, slight hints of a metallic note in there but not bad, some biscuity bread notes with a touch of caramel. Taste is a mix of sweet biscuit bread up front going right into tart pineapple, lychee and star fruits, hints of mango, slight passionfruit notes, hints of slight spice, no metallic notes, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter, tart notes follow as well. Based on the earlier reviews, this must have needed a bit to sort itself out, tasting pretty solid at the moment, though the price tag was harsh for the quality.

Tap at Barley Johns. Clear light amber pour with a spotty white head. Tart unripened tropical fruit, flowers, and yeast. Zesty. Good carbonation. Finishes dry.

Bottle many thanks to Adam. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet..hay, straw, spice, melon, pear, apple, white grape, icing sugar and toast. The taste is white grape, vinous, melon, pear, straw, hay pleasant tartness, alcohol warmth and a touch of spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty interesting stuff. A lot of tart white wine stuff going on.

Bottle. Nice attractive pour ... silently still, amber, quality head of sticky white foam. The aroma is certainly continental ... hinting at a Belgian golden avenue. It drinks with a more aggressively sweetened angle than most ... with big time, syrupy fruitiness rolling right over the top. Sticky in the mouth too. Delicious. (#5016, 5/10/2013)

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2013 On tap at Bailey’s Taproom, pours a hazy golden bronze with a small beige head. Aroma of light fruits, paint thinner and apples. Flavour of apples, paint thinner and alcohol. Very simplistic beer, full of apple and alcoholic liqueur notes. Decent, but too amateurish tasting, and quite boozy. Drinkable, but just barely. 22 oz. bottle, pours a dirty orange with a small white head. Aroma of hibiscus, tropical fruits, and some citrus hops. Flavour brings out guava, a little pineapple, some peach, some citrus hops, and some grapefruit. Interesting flavour profile, with loads of tropical fruits. Finishes on citrusy notes, particularly guava and grapefruit. Great stuff. The bottle version is much better than the draught version I had. My rating will reflect a balance of my two tries.

Bottle, golden orange pour. Fruity aroma, some fruit I am aware of feijoada perhaps. White wineiness, touch of tartness. Fruit forward flavor, mumbled jumbled flavor. Doesn’t seem to work. Fruitiness out of wack.

Sampled on 3/17/2013. This Belgian Triple pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, floral and tart, with some yeast and a touch of funk. A medium bodied triple. The malts are fruity and sweet, The hops are earthy and herbal. Decent carbonation. This is kind of a weird beer, it has some tartness and some pineapple (feijoa?) and some definite hibiscus flavors. Its kind of a mess, but it kind of works. Lots of sweetness, lots of tartness with some herbal stuff as well. Overall it’s a nice tart ale. Definitely different. Mouthfeel is full and round Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 22 oz bomber. Sparkling light copper pour, soft medium thick white head with a slight coat of lacing. Aroma has a spicy tinge it with some odd, but pleasant fruitiness (must be Feijoa) which I understand is similar to guava. Flavor has a unique sweet and sour thing going on, some tart syrupy notes, some unique fruitiness that must be feijoa. Thickish mouthfeel. Reminds me of something that Dogfish Head would brew.
