2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bomber bottle and served in my NB Worthy glass: Ever so slightly hazed golden hue with a fizzy small head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of mild lactic acid and funk, sour apple, pale and crystal grains, dusty yeast, mineral water, bubblegum and slight hard sugar candy. The taste is more of the same, while there is some noticeable sourness and even a touch of brettanomyces funk creeping in, the taste is far too grainy and even shall I say sweet upon the finish for the style. Perhaps in due time some more brett character will take hold but for now this beer is simply pedestrian on the nose and taste. The alcohol tends to get abrasive after a while. The mouth feel is lively and sharp but again because of the stronger booze, not nearly as refreshing as the better examples of the genre. Again, another reason why "Imperialism" of these traditional styles (Pils, Hefe, Dorts, Mild, etc...) often end up a failure. If this beer really bad, no... but is it something I would want again, no.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow gold with minimal head. Aroma is mildly tart at first, soon joined by fruit such as green apple, lemon, and watermelon. Flavor is mild and unappealing, with very mild lactic acid, berries, wood, straw and lemon. Finishes with mild lactic acid and vegetal character. I typically love Berliners and anything resembling them, but this didnít work for me.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Light Gold in color. Aroma of dirt and grass. Taste is not good. Lack of sour and lack of carbonation. Out of 18 beers tried at Beachwood BBQ Sour Fest this was my least favorite. I was disappointed because I really wanted this to be good as I like the Berliner Weisse style.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled at the Richmond Gathering XII. Pours a near clear bright golden with suspended small particulate and small ring of white head. Sweet and under attenuated. Corny, floral, citrus, lemon. All secondary notes. But this definitely missed the mark. Tart and acidic. Pretty much a dissapointment from what Iíve come to expect from the lips of faith series.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
NOTF 2010. Pale golden pour. Aroma of green apple and straw. Sweet and really only a touch of wheaty spicy. Little in the way of acicity or tartness and there is also an odd vegetal character. Meh.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a straw-yellow, like a macrobrew lager. Intriguing smell from a beer of this color...smelled of brown sugar, wheat, and figs. Sounds impossible, but thats what I got. The flavor is nothing like the nose, but the wheat does come out a bit more, behind the orange and lemon sourness that dominates for the most part. Not bad, but not worth buying.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sample at GABF. Kind of a hazy yellow with almost no head. Aroma of grain and citrus. Tastes of citrus, very tart. Not one of my favorite styles. Just too tart.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a clear light golden color. Nose is sweet, malty, corny, and a little bit of fruit syrup. The palate is medium weight, with flavors of apple, grain, sugar, with very little tartness. Strange for the style and medium dry.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A: The beer pours a clear, golden straw color with a small white head.
S: This does not smell like a Berlinerweiss. Apple juice, corn, and sugar are the primary aromas. A bit of bubblegum and popcorn smell to it as well. A strange fruitiness is also present, though I canít quite put a name on it.
T: Same story on the palate. Cotton candy, bubblegum, and corn syrup make for one sweet beer. No discernible tartness or bacterial character. Slightly vegetal and more popcorn.
M: Medium in body with a moderate carbonation.
O: Just crap. I generally like New Belgiumís sour beers, and I love a good Berlinerweiss, but this just sucked.
