Serving up cold and jet black, this imperial stout should be taken seriously for about one minute as the dark foam builds. Then, enjoy its velvety chocolate-covered smoothness and delicious aroma of sustainably-grown, locally-roasted coffee.

Bomber to snifter. Very thick pillowy brown head floating atop a dark brown body. Taste is brewed coffee with much less bitterness than many coffee beers have, and i enjoy this. Nice chocolatey undertone.

Great full bodied Stout with a stronger coffee flavor allowing the sweetness of the chocolate to take a passengers role. A perfect Christmas morning beer

16 ounce pint - $6.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Dispensed a very dark brown body, I think. I mean, theyve got some dim-lighting in here tonight, allowing the Christmas lights to light the joint. Oh, topped with a finger of dusky, beige suds.

Smell: Youve got your notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee -- yep, its a coffee-chocolate stout, alright.

Taste: An expected start of roasty grains, dark chocolate, bold coffee, and even some dark caramel. Then, the chocolate and coffee flavors exponentiate. Scant perceived fruitiness. A little acidity. Some bitterness, not much, and some alcohol warmth presenting itself. Roasty, choco-coffee finish with some more alcoholic heat.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Its lightly velvety.

Overall: Its pleasant enough, though not overly complex; it never strays beyond the implied "coffee" and "chocolate" in its moniker.

A - pours opaque cola brown with 1 finger tight bubbled head. No real lacing. S - strong and vegetal and roasted malts dominate. Espresso, raw cacao, cocoa, leather. Quite charred. M - medium light body. Watery. Bitter dry and ashy. Simple palate. Alcohol is well hidden. T - charred wood, leather, milk chocolate, espresso, cacao up front. Ashy and chalky. Bitterest by the coffee, but the subtle sweet malts shine through. O - quite good, albeit very simple coffee stout. 3.4 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown with an espresso (appropriate) head. Milk chocolate aroma. Taste is primarily medium roast coffee with milk chocolate. Some caramel notes as well. A bit of creaminess as well. Has a certain iced coffee quality to it. Sort of wears the tongue out though.

Really liked this one. Pitch black, with a dark tan head. Aroma was dominated by rich coffee and some roasty malt. Flavor matched the aroma with the addition of chocolate. Mouthfeel was nice and silky.

In the glass it has a dark brown appearance with a small beige head. It has an aroma of coffee that dominates with some mild cocoa notes. Taste has some bitterness up front with an alcohol punch. Coffee, chocolate and a molasses finish it out. Nice finish.

Bottle. Black pour with a tall, frothy brown head. Strong coffee in the aroma along with dark chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is big coffee up front, chocolate covered coffee beans, roasted malt, candy bars and burnt caramel. Body is medium-full with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more coffee notes, dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, and dark, oily coffee beans.

22oz bottle poured into a Snifter at 39. Color is black with good carbonation and a tight brown head. Aroma of fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate and dried fruit. It has a bolder medium body with a lighter mouth feel that comes off crisp and almost sharp. Flavor is roasted with a light note of coffee, baking coco and raisin. Alcohol jumps out in the after taste which seems to start sweet, this is quickly snubbed out by a roasted bitterness that leaves a slightly dry feel. Overall its a great Stout, a little lighter than I was excepting for an imperial and not as good as the aroma leads you to believe it will be.
