Serving up cold and jet black, this imperial stout should be taken seriously for about one minute as the dark foam builds. Then, enjoy its velvety chocolate-covered smoothness and delicious aroma of sustainably-grown, locally-roasted coffee.

Shared from a brown bomber bottle into a nonic pint glass. It poured an opaque black color, reddish-brown at the edges, with HUGE everlasting beige foam and Belgian lace. Aromas of espresso, Reeseís Peanut Butter Cups, cocoa nibs, sweet malts, Russian brown bread, fruit-cake. Flavors of chocolate-covered coffee-beans, caramel, toast, roasted barley, black plum sauce, sticky-toffee pudding, wild cherries, with a subtle and tangy hops balance. Medium body and carbonation, chewy mouthfeel, complex lingering aftertaste which eventually finished dry with a crisp snap. WOAH, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DELICIOUS! I absolutely did not expect such a sublime experience. Well done, New Belgium, keep it up!

Bomber----> nonic. Pours a deep black with a thick, creamy, one finger tan head. Smells heavily of quality ground coffee. Taste is dominated by coffee with slight chocolate and cream. Palate is a bit thinner than I would have expected, but not embarrassingly thin. Really dig this beer.

Bomber. Pours a midnight black with a mocha colored frothy head. Sticky lacing. Aroma of fresh brewed coffee, hints of chocolate, and coffee grounds. Taste like fresh coffee with lots of sugar. Nice creamy mouth-feel. Very earthy and fresh. Dark coca on the backbone with a slight boozy taste. Finish taste like bitter coffee grounds. Linger a bit too long.

Tap at speakeasy. Darker brown with a tan head, sticky lace. Nose is a really nice fresh coffee, cocoa, and cream. Flavor is similar but itís a bit too sweet in the flavor and on the palate. Still, one of the better bastardized beers Iíve had from NB.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours dark dark brown to near black with a medium tan head that leaves some lace. Aroma consists of malted chocolate milk balls, espresso. Taste starts out sweet like mocha coffee before turning bitter in the finish. The chocolate and coffee flavors are pronounced. Mouthfeel is velvety; body could be a little fuller. Nice coffee beer.

On tap at Smoke and Barrel....Pours pitch black, smells like a mocha latte. Itís got a ton of coffee flavor and even more chocolate. Would probably be good for dessert, but I never eat dessert. For me, itís just a little sweet and sticky.

Bomber. Dark brown pour, with a small tan head. Sweet coffee, light roast, milk chocolate, somewhat old coffee taste. Decent, but it seems Iím always disappointed when I buy a lips of faith beer.
