Black with a nice fluffy, though short-lived light brown head that fades to a thick ring and leaves light lace. Somewhat mild aroma of coffee, duh, and light chocolate and vanilla. Coffee dominates the taste, with hints of chocolate and cream. Medium-full bodied. Good, but way too mild and a tad thin to be considered a really good imperial stout.

Bottle. Pours an extremely dark brown with a moderate tan head. Nose has a lot of coffee notes with some hints of chocolate underneath. Taste has some great mocha notes in there. I love it.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark black. Very dominant chocolate and coffee flavors. Thick. I wish coffee tasted this good. Hides the 9% incredibly well. This tastes like espresso beans coated in chocolate.

Pours with darkness and very little head. The aroma is powerful, got a lot of chocolate as soon as I cracked the bottle. After a real smell, you get even more chocolate and some coffee. The coffee hits you right up front as soon as it hits your lips. It fades a bit, but not much and is there throughout the whole taste. Some chocolate, but is heavily dominated by the coffee. You better like coffee for this one!

Sampled at the beach with kristen. Pours a very dark clear brown with good tan head. Aroma is exactly that off coffee. Flavor has some dark bitter chocolate roastiness. Not the best imperial stout, or the best coffee beer i’ve had, but very good for what it is.

Deep brown with tan head. Potent coffee and cream nose with some roast a weird whisp of dark fruit that didn’t quite fit. Moderate coffee flavor with cream and dry roast. Fairly thin body. Overall enjoyable for what it is.

Bummer that my 100th rating was so bad. 22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours dark black with a big tan head. Smell is strong bitter coffee. Taste is cold, stale, bitter coffee. I couldn’t taste any chocolate or anything else for that matter. Thin to medium body. Drain poured it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a nice brown head. Aroma is straight coffee most of the time, but after warming, some dark chocolate and vanilla appears. Taste is actually a pretty nice balance between coffee and chocolate. Alcohol is not always real well hidden. Fairly thin mouthfeel for the style, but nice lingering chocolate truffle in the finish. Not a particularly complex beer, but enjoyable nonetheless.
