Serving up cold and jet black, this imperial stout should be taken seriously for about one minute as the dark foam builds. Then, enjoy its velvety chocolate-covered smoothness and delicious aroma of sustainably-grown, locally-roasted coffee.

Huge fluffy tan head that laces well. Smells mostly of cocoa powder, almost like chocolate milk and coffee mix. The coffee comes out more in the flavor than on the nose. There is a peppery or green-like harshness that is pretty strong when the beer is cold, but it greatly diminishes as the beer warms.

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured near jet black with a moderate, light brown head. You got what you asked for here -- a roasty, chocolatey, mocha/coffee bomb of a stout. A little thin on the mouthfeel which made the 10% abc seem smoother. Nice drinking beer on a cold, damp, PacNW day.

22. Pours black with a pillowy tan head. Decent bubbly lace. Big sharp forward coffee nose, roasty and oily. Smells like an overroasted bean, not the best cup of coffee ever, but pleasant and dimensional in the context of a beer. The malty notes and chocolate accents around that are pleasant. Creamy medium body with very low carb. Big roasty coffee notes on the mid palate, followed by a pleasant dark roastiness. Long coffee finish.

Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a dark brown color with a thin mocha head which leaves several streaks of lacing. Aroma is vanilla bean, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is much the same - very smooth.

On tap at Tap 25. It pours dark brown with a nice tan head. The aroma is super potent with fresh ground coffee and big chocolate. The flavor is more of the same with lots of coffee and cocoa. Medium bodied and a very pleasant drinker. Great new coffee beer. I want more!

On tap at DIA NB Hub. Opaque with a nice creamy head. Nose is chocolate and roast, with some oats. Taste is dark chocolate, light espresso, a touch of lactose and grain. Heavy body is balanced, lightly sticky and has med carbonation.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s in Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a dark brown head. Intense fresh coffee, a touch acidic, dark chocolate, light vanilla, cocoa, caramel aroma. Coffee bean, a touch fruity, light booze, toffee, apple, roasty, a touch smoky malty flavor with a bitter, coffee bean finish. A bit strong but not bad.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thick black pour with thin but lasting tan head, aroma brought notes of nice fresh espresso, coffee grounds, beans, nice hints of cocoa, roast and slight caramel, toffee, in there as well, smells like a mocha. Taste is a mix of coffee bean, espresso, nice cocoa, dark chocolate, hints of roast, slight caramel, finishing with more mocha, nice dry and bitter finish. Fairly creamy on the palate, but not overly so where it becomes too thick. Yes, it is one-dimensional, coffee forward, but it is right up my alley. More please!

Deep, dark black, with a frothy tan head, great retenention and lace. Wonderful coffee/espresso aromas with the chocolate only a mild afterthought. Flavor is similar, only more pronounced, and the chocolate makes a much more significant appearance. Roasty malts, hints of oatmeal, and a mild ripe dark fruitiness round it out. Full body, silky smooth mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, warming alcohol, and a lingering dark chocolate that seems slightly decadent. I’m a bit surprised at the rating here, as this was really a treat.

22 oz. bottle to snifter. Pours brown black with a quick soapy khaki head that leave a wispy film and sudsy collar. Aroma is strong coffee and bakers chocolate. Taste is strong coffee and mild chocolate with some faint vanilla and bitter hops. Palate is full and chalky. This is decent, but the coffee is a bit strong and over does the chocolate flavor.
