4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The aroma fuses a strong current of chocolate with undercurrents of coffee and oats, but the appearance is an opaque black with a quickly dissipating tan head. The taste is quite umami, slightly bitter, and slightly sweet, which is very pleasing to the tongue because of the way the flavors nicely combine on the tongue; furthermore, the palate combines a bitter finish, medium body, oily texture, and a soft carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a a dark, muddy brown with a scorched caramel color head. The head foam is reminiscent of when water is poured into a glass that just contained milk. A lot of asymetrical bubbles. Quite a bit of lacing around the glass. The aroma is comprised of brewed coffee, ground coffee, and powder cocoa for chocolate milk or hot chocolate. Not a whole lot more going on there. The mouthfeel is disappointing. Too watery and thin. A bit of sharpness due to the hop carbonation interaction toward the end. Heavy on the coffee with distinct notes of powdered cocoa mix. Thereís a little smokiness in the middle with something akin to a salty, grilled olive, if you will. I think they missed the mark with this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Foamy light khaki head, nearly black body. Oats, bitter espresso and dark chocolate in the aroma. Flavor is iced esprsso, very toasty and coffee driven, bitter, toasty, and dry finish. Medium to lighter body thatís softer...could use more heft there. Just ok.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the bottle, it looks like coffee with about a two inch pillow of chocolate milk colored foam on top. Deep dark chocolate brown, nearly no light penetrating. Rich mocha aroma, with a hint of booze and just a touch of sour fruit smell. The flavor is rich and roasty, chocolate, coffee, caramel, orange, cherry. Nice and viscous, I sat on this one for about 6 months and itís nice and mellow. VERY good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle poured into snifter. Dark black brown color with a nice tan mocha head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor starts with a sweet chocolate malt which quickly goes to a slightly bitter strong coffee taste. Body is medium and carbonation is light to medium with tight bubbles. Overall a tasty stout although the coffee flavor was a little overpowering, covered up the other flavors.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle - Pours black with a tan head. It smells of coffee, roast malt, and some alcohol. It has a big roasted coffee malt flavor with some good hops balance. Itís full bodied with a roasted coffee aftertaste. Really good, especially as it warms.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From the March 2013 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized soapy brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was semi-sweet licorice, cocoa and a bit of coffee. The flavor was dryish and toasty with notes of Bakers chocolate, a hint of coffee and a touch of roasty malts. Medium length finish of roasty cocoa. Medium body. Disappointing.
