COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Serving up cold and jet black, this imperial stout should be taken seriously for about one minute as the dark foam builds. Then, enjoy its velvety chocolate-covered smoothness and delicious aroma of sustainably-grown, locally-roasted coffee.

Enjoyed via a bottled from Outpost Co-op on Capital Drive in Milwaukee. Pours a deep brown-black with a large and clingy tan head. The aroma is a mocha latte. The taste is like an iced mocha; you get the coffee flavors, chocolate, cream and some caramel. The palate is silky smooth like drinking milk or cream. There is little to no boozy flavor less a warm burn on the back and side of the tongue. The finish is chocolate caramel. This is a new favorite, for sure.

Black with fleeting tan head. Nice nutty brewed coffee, chocolate syrup aromas. medium body, average carbonation. brewed coffee, mocha, dark chocolate flavors with sugar, dark roast malts----tasty coffee brew.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of bunches of peat, coffee, chocolate, oak, raisins and even some vanilla noticeable. Medium-bodied; Deep strong peat and coffee flavours dominate with only a hint of chocolate and oak noticeable, but a lot of alcohol and deep bitter notes. Aftertaste is very strong with the coffee, peat, roasted malt and a lot of chocolate and alcohol. Overall, a strong and relatively good beer - showing perhaps a bit too much coffee, not enough chocolate and a little too much alcohol and peat. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Arrowine in Arlington, Virginia on 24-November-2012 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-April-2013.

Heavy coffee and dark chocolate flavor. I love the espresso flavor. A dark brew with a brown and creamy head. Had on tap at the hay merchant. This will be one of my favorite beers. The only complaint I have is that it has a high alcohol content that is heavy on the aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nose of coffee, chocolate, and dark roasted malt. Pours a jet black with a mostly diminishing khaki head and spotty lacing. The taste is wonderfully bitter. Robust. Strong black coffee, dark roasted malt, with hints of chocolate. Full body with medium carbonation. Overall, an excellent porter!

Strong coffee, roasted unmalted barley, and zwieback nose. Black, medium firm tan head with good retention and lacing.Smooth, full body. Pronounced coffee flavor, a vegetal note is present at midpalate. Espresso finish. If New Belgium beers kept a little better, this beer could be spectacular.

Chocolate, coffee aromas black in color with tan foam, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, creamy, medium body, deliciously well balanced!

Black with a thin brown head. Aroma is strong coffee with a little bit of chocolate. Similar to a mocha with a double shot of espresso. Flavor is big coffee with a hint of chocolate. Could be quite excellent, but the finish is overly bitter which detracts from it overall. Still, definitely nice if you like a strong coffee beer. Wife: 3.75

Pours thick and dark with a thin tan head. The nose is heavy coffee, like a fresh poured cup of joe that someone snuck chunks of milk chocolate into. Hints of spice and cherries mingle intermittently. The taste is high sweet and medium bitter. The texture is to crisp. Overcarbonated. The body is heavy an the finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Big and black, still, but still giving up a big head. The aroma reminds me of baking brownies ... thick with chocolate and roast. This is a delicious drinker, and would go GREAT with vanilla ice cream or just about any chocolate dessert. Brilliant. (#4973, 4/7/2013)
