We get a kick out of collaborating. Harvesting the creativity of Kim Jordan of New Belgium and Dick Cantwell of Elysian produced this ruby-hued, slightly sour, pumpkin, cranberry ale. It’s a treat that does the trick.

What a marvelous experience and refreshing break from the overly spiced, ubiquitous pumpkin beers. Tart, sour and effervescent with a clean pumpkin flavor.

Golden orange, medium sized long lasting white head, good lasting. Aroma is lightly sour, tart, cherries, cranberries. Flavour is tart and sour, slightly acidic, cherries and cranberries. Sour mouthfeel, light body, moderate carb. Finishes long, tart and dry. Excellent, finally a pumpkin beer that I really enjoy. I love the sourness in this.

pours a medium-darker amber/orange. aroma of cranberries, a hint of spice, and a little oak and funk. really well balance flavor and a soft mouthfeel. flavor is pumpkin (as it warms), sweet and tart cranberry, wood, and some barnyard, all in about equal measures. i was hoping for a more straightforward pumpkin beer than this, but what i got was quite good in a different way. a unique tasty brew."

Draft - Sour something, could be pumpkin? Orange and white grape are also there. Cloudy orange with a white head. Sour pumpkin? Berry and oak. Little to lively on the carb but a nice refreshing sour.

Draft to tulip at RBWG. Looks good; a hazy orange with thin white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells tart and wild with notes of cranberry. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant mouthfeel. Good beer.

Interesting take from a couple of love birds. A: pours golden with a finger of ephemeral head which falls to a tortuous sheet of the same and some spotty lace. Near excellent clarity. S: Interesting. The cranberries are king here and second fiddle is sour lacto smells. No real pumpkin - hooray! Some hints of leather and cinnamon of all things. T: Tart, cranberries are evident, plenty of woody malts in the back. This is pretty drinkable. M: Medium bodied with moderate carb. Semi dry finish. O: Well done experiment IMO. Bomber aged a little over 2 years. Poured into my New Belgium globe glass. Pours a ruby amber color with a off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of Cranberry, pumpkin, spices and sour yeast. Tastes of the same thing in the smell with the sour cranberry flavor being the forefront. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation and a semi dry finish. A lot more sour than I thought it would be but mellows as it warms and the pumpkin and spices shine through more. Pretty flavorful sour beer. It aged really well i think.

On tap at Falling Rock. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is lemon peel and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with light spice and lingering dry finish. Decent.

22oz bottle. Pours a light golden color with a one finger white head that leaves light lacing. The smell is of acidic citrus tartness, and slight nutmeg spice. Taste is surprisingly prominent dry lemon acidity up front. Nutmeg flavor comes in as the beer warms in your mouth. Cranberry is a bit of an afterthought but there on the finish. Sour lemon mustiness first, with some nice flavoring lingering on the palette. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Shared bomber. Pours orange/gold with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, pumpking, spice, and malt. Taste is similar. Somewhat tart. Decent enough.
