We get a kick out of collaborating. Harvesting the creativity of Kim Jordan of New Belgium and Dick Cantwell of Elysian produced this ruby-hued, slightly sour, pumpkin, cranberry ale. It’s a treat that does the trick.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Pours a hazy golden with a small off-white head. Tart aroma - I believe the pumpkin is coming through. Medium body, heavy fruitiness, initially sweet but the tartness prevails through the finish. Not overly enjoyable really. 030312

Bottled at oh6gdx’s birthday bash at chriso’s. Hazy golden, small head. Tart, yeasty cranberry aroma. Dry with solid body and rounded mouthfeel. Some bready malt, but mostly super cheap white wine. Low bitterness. Let this stay an experiment...

Bottle at Pat’s birthday tasting at chriso’s. Pours clear gold with a bubbly, white head. Fruity aroma with some booze and malt. Very sweet flavor with significant tang, booze, and fruit. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Tangy finish with some sharp dough, citrus, sugar. Not totally sure about this one, but it certainly didn’t blow me away.

A: The beer pours a slightly hazed orange-amber color with a finger of white head. S: A nice subtle tartness up front. A mild cranberry aroma, but a surprising amount of pumpkin. There is a mild spiciness to it. As it warms up, it becomes a bit more lemony. Mild oak and malt notes as well. T: This beer has a very nice tartness from the cranberries, but there is a good lactic character to it as well. A mild astringency to it, actually. The spice notes are subtle, but there. Nutmeg, all spice, and even a bit of vanilla. M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. O: I didn’t like this quite as much as I was expecting to, but it was worth picking up the bottle and definitely better than Clutch.
