Le Terroir is a French term meaning ‘Of the Earth.’ Used to reference the environmental conditional that affect the brew, we like to think about the terroir of our foeders. These wooden barrels age our sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations. The terroir of New Belgium, so to speak. Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops, and we created a beer that changes every time we brew it.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours an golden colour with a small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is of oranges, peaches and mangoes. Taste is of tangarines with a lemon like sourness. This is a great beer. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

On tap at The Bearded Lady. Brown orange pour with a small head. Aroma is spicy funk and pears. Taste is hard, angry, and sour fruit. Sour finish. On the other hand, Ashley likes it. I guess her palate is better.

Rouge/orange avec un petit tête. L’arôme aigre des cerises et de la pomme. Le goût est des fruits aigre (cerises et un peu de la pomme). D’abord un peu de sucre mais une finition sec. Une bonne bière aigre.

Surprisingly light and golden in the body with a thin, soapy off white head. The aroma is sublime with big dry hop and citrus fruit aromas along with in your face acetic and acidic sour smells. Big bready and funky barnyard aromas with grapefruit and lemon rind. A nice middle of caramel, bread, earthy, barnyard, and funk. The finish has a refreshingly IPA esque fruit and hop flavour with moderate bitterness. Not overly sour but a solid emphasis of acidic and bitter acid notes and the earthy, sour notes. Tons of barrel yeast notes overall. A great brew

Pours hazy deep gold with limited/no head, no lacing. (4/5) Nose is intense funk, strong sour cherries and lemons, some peaches and sweet fruit. (9/10) Taste is mildly sweet and intensely sour. (9/10) Medium body, low to still carbonation, dry tartly sour finish. (4/5) Oh yeah - think I’m gonna get another two or three of these for cellaring. This is sort of similar to La Folie, but in the “family resemblance” sense, not “identical twins”. If La Folie were a red wine, Le Terroir would be a white. And yeah, that does mean that I prefer La Folie - but not by a whole lot. This is a really good Belgian-level sour that can pretty much hold its own against a Cantillon. (18/20)

2014 Edition, sample on tap. Dark ruby pour with a gorgeous pink foam head. Tons of flavour in this one, notably sour fruits (I get raspberry and cherry flavours), malts, breads, and some citrusy fruit hops on the end.

650ml bomber pours a golden orange color with a finger of bubbly white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is lemon zest with some yeasty and grainy notes. Taste is a lemon zest sourness with a fruity and malty sweetness. Light to medium body with adequate carbonation. A well done sour ale that is worth checking out.

Draft at HopCat GR - pours a hazy orange color . Big juicy aroma with faint grassy hop . Mildly sour , some mango and definitely get the Amarillo hops . Well done . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
