Le Terroir is a French term meaning ‘Of the Earth.’ Used to reference the environmental conditional that affect the brew, we like to think about the terroir of our foeders. These wooden barrels age our sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations. The terroir of New Belgium, so to speak. Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops, and we created a beer that changes every time we brew it.

Pours an electric yellow color with a sour malt aroma. Taste is fruity, tropical, mixed with a fair amount of hops. Almost a light pineapple flavor, but I can taste the mango/apricot in the beer. A light tasting sour, that was enjoyable.

The aroma of the Le Terroir is complex; the yeast is very earthy, there’s a note of apricot, and bread malt is also present. The taste: definitely sour. The palate is actually quite smooth for such a sour beer. Definitely a winner for me, and one of the most unique beers I’ve tried.

22 oz bottle pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Aromas of citrus, funk, green apple. Medium bodied very unique and delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very good sour beer rotting on shelves everywhere due to a price that people wouldn’t balk at for 95% of the coveted sours on the market. Fruity dry hop character, light tartness, lacks for funk but is otherwise very good for an American version of the style.

This slightly cloudy gold beer has the aroma of green apples. T it has a slightly sour flavor but isn't overpowering. Very very well done. We were last weeend. I'm going tomorrow to watch

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2014 Tap at Mackenzie’s in downtown Mpls. Fluted beer glass...skinny and strange. Half finger of head. Orange in appearance. Slight haze. Aroma is plenty of hops with bubblegum creeping through. Wow, that is interesting. Not holding anything back. .. owns the sourness. Some bubblegum remnants as it finishes. Plenty of tart and sour throughout. Honestly kind of challenging to consume. It is as advertised...sour, wild, and probably not something I will order again. This truly is a terroir...on my taste buds.

Well this is a funny beer. (draft). Nose is seriously hoppy. Resiny, citrus, fruity. Definite dry hop nose. Flavor then was a weird change up, funky sweet and sour tropical fruits, mango pineapple grapefruit juice. Really funky with a sour/bitter finish. So weird its hard to understand if I liked it or not, but the nice rounded palate helped out. Darkish orange color with a foaming head.

Orange pour with a sizeable head. Funk and fruit in the aroma. Fruit and funk both vying for your attention here with neither dominating - Peach Citrus, Acidic, Vinegar, but everything is integrated so well. Medium body.

Appearance: slightly hazy orange color, poured with a small off white head Aroma: sour, spice, funk, pear, smells good, Taste: very sour, grass, flowers, hint of spice in there Palate: leaves mouth dry, sour aftertaste, lively carbonation Overall: this beer is awesome, very sour but a lot of complexity beneath the sourness, one of the more sour beers I’ve had ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at fobab. Pours a peachy orange clear color with a white head. Aroma of mangoes, peaches, tropical fruits, citrus hops, slight sour lacto but mostly hops. Taste is sour but not crazy. Light crisp bitter/sour finish. Really awesome. Top 5 fobab beer for me.
