Le Terroir is a French term meaning ‘Of the Earth.’ Used to reference the environmental conditional that affect the brew, we like to think about the terroir of our foeders. These wooden barrels age our sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations. The terroir of New Belgium, so to speak. Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops, and we created a beer that changes every time we brew it.

This is the first sour beer i have had in a while and I’m not too sure on how it rate it. The aroma is sweet, almost fruity. The taste brings a whole new meaning to beer, sour/tart and malty awesomeness with a hoppy resin. The body is light, with a medium carbonation. I am curious of how this beer was made, one of a kind.

Draft sampler. Excellent golden orange colored sour ale with medium sweet notes around the tartness. The long sour finish is really nice. This stands up quite well against any other sour ale I have had.

Hazy orange pour. Peach, sour, a little bitterness on the nose. Notes of lemongrass, white sugar, and oak. Earthy, infected, bold

Pours a dark urine golden color with nearly no head. Beefy, sour nose. Soft water mouthfeel. Sour, but a little sweet underneath. Hoppiness comes through in an unassuming fashion.

Bottle drank while playing Super Mario Wii w/ Jenny. Strong amarillo hops in the aroma: pineapple, mango, slight hemp, jammy. Flavor has much more tartness of pineapple and mango, mild funk, yeasty, apricots, marmalade. Crisp and tangy. I’m not much into hoppy and sour together, but this does it perfectly.

On tap at Sideways in Fayetteville. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a nice white head. Aroma is some funky barnyard with some floral. Hay and grassy also. Sourness is slightly tart and puckering, but really nice. Great beer.

Draft at Mahoney's. Pours orange with little head and some lacing. Nose is floral hops. Surprising. Taste is balsamic with some citrus and floral hops. Tastes better as it warms up.

floral, earthy, barnyard aroma. Sips medium bodied with a nice crisp carbonation on the tongue. Color is clear dark orange. Sour, funky flavors with fruit of citrus. There is a biting ginger like aspect in the middle and it finishes drying and an afterbreath of funk. The hop presence of this beer is what gives it an added depth of character which is pleasant and makes this a great sour beer.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours an golden colour with a small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is of oranges, peaches and mangoes. Taste is of tangarines with a lemon like sourness. This is a great beer. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

On tap at The Bearded Lady. Brown orange pour with a small head. Aroma is spicy funk and pears. Taste is hard, angry, and sour fruit. Sour finish. On the other hand, Ashley likes it. I guess her palate is better.
