COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Terroir is a French term meaning ĎOf the Earth.í Used to reference the environmental conditional that affect the brew, we like to think about the terroir of our foeders. These wooden barrels age our sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations. The terroir of New Belgium, so to speak. Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops, and we created a beer that changes every time we brew it.

Bomber. Pours a hazy amber orange with a frothy, off-white head that stays. Good lacing.Aromas of earthy funk, peach, apple, and tart fruit. Flavor is sour fruit upfront, apple and cherry, with some wood and earth notes. Finishes dry and earthy. Lingering fruit and wood flavors. Light bodied, light carbonation.

Pours orange in color with a thin white head. Aroma has alot more hops in it than I expected, tropical hop notes with a lot of mango, hints of sour funk and acidity underneath it all. Taste stays pretty balanced between sour and bitter, mango, lemons, funk. Pretty good, not sure if its worth what I paid though.

Bottle @ SF 5. Bright amber like a nice whiskey. Smells like dried flowers and dried apples. Very pleasant flavor.

Also had this at stumbling monk. Aged 2 years mellowed the weird wild flavors. Hops and yeast complement each other nicely.

(Tap) Quite interesting. Itís a good mix of flavors. I think sour beer folks would like it but itís a bit too sour for me.

Draft. Slightly cloudy red appearance. Nice head. Hoppy fruity, somewhat yeasty nose. Sour cherries, pretty tart, bold flavor. Perhaps my favorite beer from New Belgium.

Bottle @ WWT IV, small sample. Slight hazy golden color, short head. Aroma is hoppy, grapefruit, bit funky touch. Slight sweet in taste, bit sour. Dry-hopped sour, thatís exactly what it is. Nice.

Bottle @ WWT. Aroma is big tangy fruity malt and hops with notes of saison adn nelson sauvin. Flavour is tangy sweaty silty sourness, the hops donít blend with the sourness imho. Faint note of vomit.

Bottle @ WWT IV, courtesy of Zer0. Pours a slight hazy golden beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is funky, slightly tarty with oaky touches. Flavor has a load of cardboard touches, funky barrel notes and some vineous touches. A bit stringent and very tarty funky finish. Meh.
