3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz. bottle served in a DFH signature glass. Shared in line at the FFF XV Anniversary Party.
A:Pours a clear, deep straw with some orange undertones. A one finger frothy white head forms on the pour and leaves some splotchy, spotty lace on the way down.
S: Some light citrus hops are present and slightly tart orange and apple peals. Nothing outstanding.
T: Taste is much better. Great tartness and some sour fruit skins are balanced with a nice sweet citrus hop undertone. There is a little woody oak with a slighty vinegar-like pucker on the backend.
M: Light bodied with a slightly drying mouth and tiny pucker on the finish.
O: The dry hopping really added a nice citrus hop undertone to this and Iím glad I was able to still get a little pucker out of it.

Translucent orange, medium head. Hoppy grapefruit citrus aroma. Slightly grassy. Wow. Delicious. Immediate tartness that goes down surprisingly smoothly with a light texture. The sour is the most prominent aspect, but notes of grapefruit and lemon are present as well. Lingering bitterness and a bit of hops to finish.

Cloudy amber with a lasting head of small bubbles. Smells of a wet fall, gourds, hops and sour apple. Smooth great medium body with a sour fizz that climbs up your nose. The sour lasts.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Dak, thanks buddy! Crisp yellow/orange pour, aroma is semi sour, with a nice wallop of hops. Taste, not mind blowing on the sour level but very nice and crisp, mild hops, tropical fruit, very well rounded and very sessionable stuff for a sour, hope they are bringing this is in soon so I can drink more of it!

Bomber pour with a friend - have enjoyed this in the past, but never rated it (and think past times have been in tap form). Anyway - pours orangey - gold with a robust white head that holds its own (particularly so for a sour/wild varietal). Aroma is bold - fruity (especially tropical - definitely mango!), sour/tart, slight yeastiness - inviting! Flavor is excellent...lots of tropical fruit with a puckering sour note throughout - not overpowering, but omnipotent, and deliciously so. Pick up some lemon notes at the finish, and the amarillo hops are definitely noted somewhere with both aroma and flavor. There is a malt backbone in this beer, which is why I think I enjoyed this so much - a balanced sour is not a common find. Palate is medium bodied and oily - an easy drinker as the sour notes leave the residual dryness. I couldnít drink a ton of this in one sitting, but I could drink it very frequently - excellent offering!

22 oz bottle into a (New Belgium) tulip.
A: Pours a slightly hazy amber color. The head is a one finger off-white shade. It doesnít have the thickest-looking texture, but itís retention is excellent for a sour. A surprising amount of lacing is left behind. Considering itís a sour ale, it looks damn good.
S: I actually get more of the hops than I do the sourness. Hops provide notes of apricot, peach, grapefruit, mango, pine, and some distant herbs. Tartness lies in the background; personally I was hoping for it to be as sour as La Folie, but I canít deny that this is a quality aroma. Come to think of it, it kind of smells like a soured version of a beer Lagunitas would make. Thatís a huge compliment.
T: A nice profile of hops open this up nicely. Like the aroma suggested, itís heavy in apricot, mango, and pine, with just a subtle suggestion of herbs. The finish is...well, itís sour - in particular, it displays mostly a lemony tartness rather than a cherry tartness. Not suffocatingly sour mind you (or really, even as sour as La Folie), which simply means the interplay between the hop flavors and the tartness is superb. Thatís this brewís modus operandi in a nutshell: it takes two desirable qualities (hops and sourness) and balances them beautifully. Hell, I even pick up a malt backbone!
M: Tannic, dry, and puckering. It isnít really drinkable, but God is it wonderful to savor. So very, very wonderful. Carbonation takes a back seat to the palate puckering. On the plus side, the tartness isnít so overpowering that it strangles the tongue.
O: Fuck, this is tasty. Normally, a brew I really adore (for example, Troegs Perpetual IPA) I just want to guzzle ítil the cows come home, but this is something Iíll savor happily - and still wish I had another bottle to drink. I need more of this in my life, right now.

Scooped one up. I thought I was the champ. Crompt scooped one up. He was the champ. Heís not a one upper, but he one ups me every time. He was too good at Mario Brothers too. He got the secret code to all the one ups. He used it too much and now lives in a tent.

Draft at Maxís Sour Fest. Pours hazy copper gold with a thin, fizzy white head. Tastes like strong orange and grapefruit, hops, tart sourness. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet orange, light hops, and sourness.
