this was something interesting to try at the brewery. It was bitter but not in a good way. tasted of bitter beets. smelled odd, something to try at least once

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap at New Belgium with Mark, Natasha, Carla and Andrew. Pours a deep violet with opaque purple foam. smells lightly sweet with a fair amount of licorice. Tastes lightly bitter with plenty of beet flavor lined with plenty of (probably too much) licorice.

1.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
On tap @ New Belgium. Pours a deep violet appearance with a red violet, smallish head. Spicy, beet, syrupy nose. Tangy, earthy, somewhat sweet, veggie, beet ale. This is my second beet beer and I honestly hate them but it’s possible this is a good beet beer. I can’t stand it, however.
