COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 20th Anniversary! Let’s roll a bunch of New Belgium together and put it in a bottle. Start with the backbone of Fat Tire, but double the malt and hops; Add in crisp Asian Pears, a very Belgian thing to do; and bring it to life with a Saison yeast. It’s New Belgium Super Cru from us to you!

On tap at Dexters in Madison, pours a clear dark golden red with a thin soapy head, the aroma was extremely sweet with a ton of fruit, the flavor has a fruity finish that does not hide the 10% very well at all, very boozy finish, oily mouthfeel, really didn’t like this one all that much.

Pours a thick caramel brown with a very tiny head that fades away quickly. Aroma is pear juice, honey, and thick sweet malt. The taste is much of the same, pear juice, sticky sweet malts, and a slight funk from the belgian yeast. Interesting but a little too sweet for me.

22oz bomber poured into a tulip. Pours a lightly cloudy dark orange with not quite a half finger of white head. Aroma of sour yeast, citrus fruits, green apple and bready malt. Taste is similar. Light sweet with a hint of yeasty spice and some sour green apple. Medium bodied with a somewhat sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, pretty good. I would drink this again any time.

Bottle. Lots of fruit on the nose, some malt. It’s orange in color, light tan thin head. Taste is almost all pear, very nice - refreshing. Excellent finish with some black pepper along with the fruit.

Bottle at home with Greg. Poured a hazy orange, with a frothy off-white head. Smells of yeast, malt, bread, dough, coriander, and light banana, with a hint of alcohol burn. Taste is bread, dough, some yeast, a little bit of spice through the middle and I am picking up some raisins as it begins to warm, with a light alcoholic burn on the finish. Not overly sweet and the alcohol helps balance it out. Sticky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. A nice interpretation of a Belgian ale, and underrated IMHO.

Good, but not great. Poured at a good temperature with a nice, foamy, tan head that soon settled and a little lace. Color is a clear orange amber with plenty of tiny bubble trails. Aroma is somewhat muted, but with yeast, bread dough, malt, hint of fruit. Flavor’s similar to nose; good balance between sweet malt and yeast products, carbonic tang, and hop/yeast bitter. Body is good; ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor with tang and alcohol warmth finishing.

Tap at the Holy Grail. The look is orange to red in color sort of a deep amber, nice cream colored head. the smell is ripe fruits, yeast, banana, very heavily estery. The taste is more of the same, yeast, belgian, sort of heavy, and not as good as expected.
