3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good, but not great. Poured at a good temperature with a nice, foamy, tan head that soon settled and a little lace. Color is a clear orange amber with plenty of tiny bubble trails. Aroma is somewhat muted, but with yeast, bread dough, malt, hint of fruit. Flavorís similar to nose; good balance between sweet malt and yeast products, carbonic tang, and hop/yeast bitter. Body is good; ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor with tang and alcohol warmth finishing.

Tap at the Holy Grail. The look is orange to red in color sort of a deep amber, nice cream colored head. the smell is ripe fruits, yeast, banana, very heavily estery. The taste is more of the same, yeast, belgian, sort of heavy, and not as good as expected.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Draft at Dexters. Filtered orange-tan-brown. Thin, patchy off-white head. Pleasant vanilla honey pear aroma. This is a really nice beer. Quite smooth, vanilla edged, smooth for a beer of itís strength. Perfectly smooth malty, vanilla-pear mouthfeel coupled with some tangy Saison tones, this is quite excellent. Highly original, exceptional balance. World Class, another winner from NB. Sour pineapple. Awesome, memorable interplay between the amber malt, pear, and Saison yeast. Doughy vanilla finish. Easy drinker. Wow.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet aroma, with hints of spice and light fruit. Pours a clear, deep amber, with a thin white head. Very mild flavor, with sweet notes, a touch of candi sugar, and just a hint of apples. Thereís a bit of heat in this beer, and it is definitely a sipper. Lighter in body then most Belgian Strong Ales, this is an interesting one... Iím curious if a couple of years time might help tame this a bit.
