The Lost Notebook Files Beer #18. At $8.99 a bomber, this beer is a steal. Pours a cloudy amber. Scent is all strawberry. Maybe it is all lychee, but I don’t really know what that is. Taste is tart and sweet. Well carbonated. Bottle - Source Unknown

Bottle (22 oz). Slightly cloudy pale orange with almost no head or lacing. Aroma is of oak, tropical fruits, cinnamon, wild yeast and some vinegar. Taste is moderately sweet with a snappy mouthfeel and moderate sourness. Sight spiciness on the otherwise clean finish. Bottle kept in the refrigerator almost a year, and still tastes fresh. Won’t let it go that long again though! A very nice straight-ahead sour with nothing wrong with it. I have been enjoying all the entries in this wonderful series.

Straight from the barrel on the brewery tour. Golden with minimal head. Sweet/sour aroma. Sweet taste, but very sour. Reminds me of a tart cider or a quality champagne. Delicious.

Cloudy gold...fizzy white head that disappears quickly. Fruit (white grape?), cinnamon nose. Strong sour, white grape, sweet taste. Sweetness lingers, little to no bitterness. Mild carbonation.

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a foamy white head. Fruity aroma with hints of Brett and funk. Taste is loaded with funk, sweet fruits, tart lychee, and sourwood. Hints of cinnamon in the finish.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Cloudy gold beer, little pale cream coloured head. Light palate, airy and softish. Fine carbonation. Interesting flavour - really not tart! Sweetish lychee and a super mild sourness. Mild creamy malt. Perfectly judged pinch of cinnamon. Finishes soft and dry. Very interesting flavour combo. But not tart!

Bottle at Bruce’s, many thanks to Kenny! It pours cloudy golden with a medium white head. The nose is lychee, apricot, peach, tropical fruit juice, hay, sherbet and refreshers sweets. The taste is mildy tart, sweet-sour, lemonade, lychee, fruit juice from concentrate, sherbet, five-alive fruit juice, Pic n Mix sweets, chalk, spice and touch of alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Shame it’s not as tart as I would have hoped....still pretty decent.

Cool looking bottle. Bottle at Jack’s farewell at Bruce’s. Cloudy yellow pour with a medium, white and bubbly head leaving good lacing. Light funk on the nose with heavier tart and lychee. Very juicy and fruit driven. Taste is heavily juiced tropical fruits, touch of spice, hint of lychee and a touch of tart but only just. Cinnamon on the very finish which works nicely. Not very sour, rather sweet and easy going. Solid
