4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 SPDickerman (698) - Texas, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Pours hazy pale orange gold with a tiny off-white head. Smells sour and fruity, definite hints of lychee. Taste is of lychee at first and then quickly to sourness. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and mild-to-average mouth-carbonation, New Belgium Lips of Faith - Tart Lychee finishes with a touch of cinnamon spiciness and some oakiness from barrel aging.

6/12/12- Pours a murky orange with a fluffy 2f head. Aromas of green apple and barnyard funk. Middling and almost syrupy with soft carbonation. Notes of green apple, earthiness, and subtle sweet spiciness that I imagine is from the cinnamon. Puckering finish. A very nice sour that has some interesting complexities. I'll gladly have this again.

bottle. murky, cloudy dark gold with a small white head. tart nose makes the glands salivate. i’ll admit, i’m not usually too excited over sours, but this beer is freakin’ awesome! the first sour sips are welcomed on the back end with big, sweet, fruity candies. cherry and strawberry jolly rancher-like sweetness blended with a nice tart base beer. oh, and did i forget the cinnamon?..holy crap dude. medium body and just incredibly refreshing. NB has made some unbelievable beers recently in the LOF series!

Bottle from Jubilation in Albuquerque. Pours a pretty pale yellow, taste is sweet like a maitai, spicy like mulled wine, with the perfect note of sourness. I could drink this by the gallon -- surprised it's 7.5%!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20 BlackIPA (713) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 6, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2012 Pours a hazy, very cloudy straw color with a head that faded quickly. Aromas of funk, sweet fruit, barnyard, straw. Intense funky taste, followed by a boatload of tart fruit, sweet nectar. This is really a sweet and sour beer, although not to sweet. The fruit is really pronounced. Think of mixing an Orval with the driest funkiest lambic you can think of, toss in some fresh lychee fruit, and you have this beer. Simply amazing. Mind = Blown.
