22oz bottle $9.49, this is my second bottle. Cloudy orange-yellow with a short head. Smells fruity and funky, clearly it will be tart. It also reminds me a bit of Kick and Le Terroir in the aroma. Taste is fruity, hint of cinnamon, tartness and again I am reminded of previous New Belgium sours, must be a house character or maybe some of the blends have a base sour? Either way, good stuff and New Belgium is doing nice stuff with the Lips of Faith these days. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-04-2012 04:28:06

THOUGHTS: Not bad, but not much of the sweet and sour aspect. More sour than anything else. Never had a lychee, but had a longan fruit which I think is similar and the aroma reminded me of that a little. Aroma is sweet and flavor is sour. TECHNICAL: Drank 5/18/2013. Bottle. Poured a cloudy, dark yellow to light orange with a small, nearly white head that mostly diminished and left fair to good lacing. The aroma was light but very nice with light to moderate funky yeast; flowers; white grapes; pear; slight pineapple and wood; white wine; hint of vanilla; light fruits; hints of sour fruit; something kept hinting at Christmas to me which must be the cinnamon but I canít say for sure; and Iíd say longan fruit so I guess that they lychee There was also more and more sour fruit as it warmed. The initial flavor was heavily acidic and lightly sweet and sour; while the finish was lightly sweet and salty, and moderately acidic and sour with a short to average duration. There was light fruits and flowers, white wine, white grapes, pineapple, sour pineapple, other sour fruit, a little wood, and more sour fruit as it warmed. The light to medium body was a little watery for a second and then fairly dry with pinprick fizzy carbonation and a dry and moderately astringent finish which became slightly alcoholic when it was warmer.

0.65l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew from trade with ig88b. Again, huge thanks! In the glass this one pours a cloudy near glowing orange colored body with a medium sized slowly fading and sidesticking white head. Quite a interesting nose here. Itís both sweet and a little sour-ish. Tropical in a way with sweet fruit syrup and traces of both cinahnom stick, red currants, strawberries and hints of human skin. Itís definitely a interesting and quite good aroma this. Again, the taste is at first quite fruit sweet, then it turns and becomes more sour fruity in a way. Nice and oily in the mouth and itís just below average on the bubbles. Mild dry, really fruity and definitely interesting in the taste. Soft peppery sting, it has a lychee sweet tropical thing going on. Yeah, I definitely liked this one. 08.10.2014

"Lychee is an interesting fruit. This had a nice aroma and feel. Tart but not sour, no hint of an abv of any kind. Aroma slightly funky and fruity. Distinctly Unique. Flavor even better. Just another level of complexity. Very nice fruity sweet mellow sour ale. Cinnamon far more evident in the bottle 9/12"

On tap at Ashley's in Ann Arbor. The pour is a pale foggy gold color with a white head and some light lacing. The aroma is nicely sour with a light fruit presence and a good funk to it. Not overly complex or dominating in any sense of the word. The flavor is almost a little sweet before it gets sour. and the sourness is really light and reserved. The mouth feel is thin, decently carbonated without a discernible lingering aftertaste. Not too bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I stashed a few bottles of this in the back corner of my cellar a few years ago before I started rating. Turns out I never rated this! Clear orange copper pour with a white head. Really nice nose on this one, cinnamon and lychee. Nice tartness in the taste - it certainly is not more sour than it was a few years back, some of the fruit has faded. Oak and spice is now more pronounced, I think. An excellent beer and one of my favorites in the Lips of Faith series.

22 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a medium plus sized fluffy white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel, mild to moderate tropical fruit, decent tart character, cinnamon, wood tangy citrus. I would have liked to have tried this when it was fresh.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a hazy yellow color with a mostly lasted frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour yeast, spice and fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a tingly texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & fruit flavor with a medium to heavy fruit & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.
