2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22oz bomber. Pours a clear pink, strange, and settles out to a cranberry color with a white/pink fine small froth 3.5. Aroma reminds me a bit of their Dark Kriek, cherries, pie crust, grainy, pool water, some tartness and acidity, again, the aroma is a bit at odds. Can totally smell the boon kriek in there (which I also had recently). Bah... I bet I could make this at home... blend some NB with some Boon... done. This beer is not as good as Boon Kriek and probably not as good as the NB beer by itself either. I have the same issues here as I had with the Dark Kriek. The increased alcohol is dull on the tongue, grainy, earthy, some off-putting bitterness, pool-water, some tartness but lighter cherry flavor, some light pie-crust/yeast, not too terribly sweet. Medium/light bodied with softer but nice fizzy carbonation, not sticky, lightly syrupy in the finish, alcohol numbs the tongue a bit. I really dig the idea, but the point is to make a beer greater than the sum of its parts not worse... Nice looking bottle though. This is the kind of beer that makes me angry.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Clear red color with a frothy pink head. Sour aroma of earthy flavors and cherries. Nice malty flavors with obvious dominance of cherries followed by a tart finish. Maltier and not as much ph/vinegar zing as a sour making it drinkable for a larger audience. I liked it a lot.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: thanks, Jeff! Radish red & copper tinted body with a foamy, chunky, lavender tinted head that leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is cherry juice; sweet with only a mild tartness & acidity. Not much else. One dimensional but pretty nice still. Taste is blood red cherry juice. Sweet cherries with a mild tartness (but mostly sweet). Some musty flavors in the finish, but mostly just a sweet cherry explosion. Not bad, really - no hint of the 8% ABV.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
New version, looking forward to this.
This bitch pours a lovely cherry red with a light pink loose foam that falls in a minute or so. Smells nice and earthy with plenty of cherry and sweet hints of vanilla and some butter. I keep sticking my nose in for another whiff, which usually means itís complex and I dig it. Flavor is tart, with a little bitterness, some leather, some manure, some soil and grain and cherries. Medium on thin with moderate on low carb and a nice, wet finish. I think I might like this.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
It is a nice ruby pour out of the bottle, and doesnít really have much of a nose to it. You can faintly smell some cherry and thatís really it. The taste is really light to me...I get the cherry lambic flavor but it is barely tart. It is just a touch oaky. Palate is pretty blah. Not bad, but I wish it just had a little more umph.

Bland Kriek with limited cherry contribution. Some sour. Reddish color. Their story is better than the beer!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours bright red with pink hued foam. Aroma is tart with malt and cherry notes. Slight notes of almond butter as well. Flavor is quite sweet, almost too much. Crisp tart finish. Think it could be a bit heavier on the lager to make a more balanced beer

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz Bottle. The pour was a clear medium cranberry red with a large (2-3 finger) pink rocky head that diminished at a rapid steady pace, down to a medium sudsy film and had excellent sticky sheets of lacing.
The aroma was of sweet bread malts and a funky barnyard Belgian yeast with notes of cherries, candi sugar and a hint of cask.
The taste was moderately sweet and just a tad malty with a huge fruitiness that was present throughout, giving way to a creeping mild sourness in around the middle with the finish being moderately yeasty with a strong fruity overtone. The flavor lasted only a short time following the swallow, with a mildly sweet fruity tartness fading from the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was somewhat light in body with a mildly dry texture and a champagne-like carbonation.
Overall this was a very good tasting Kriek that possessed a nice light sourness blended with a bold yeasty fruitiness, which did a great job of totally concealing the high ABV, making this Lambic extremely smooth, easy to drink and very enjoyable... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews
