COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a never-ending quest to create new beers and defy category, New Belgium Brewing and Brewerij Boon of Belgium have partnered together again to create Transatlantique Kriek - a spontaneously fermented lambic ale made with Polish cherries. This authentic kriek beer began life in the oaken vessels at Frank Boon’s brewery in the Lembeek region of Belgium. After more than two years aging, Boon’s offering shipped across the Atlantic and found its way to the intuitive palate of New Belgium’s Brewmaster Peter Bouckaert. After much sampling and internal consultation, Peter and his brew staff created a full-bodied golden lager to round out the light-bodied kriek. The cherry nose gives way to a pleasingly sour flash across the palate that rolls gently into a slightly sweet finish. Crisp, effervescent carbonation keeps the mouthfeel bright and delightfully tingly. Previously 6.3

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a reddish amber with an off white head. Cherry aroma. Flavors of figs and raisins, along with sour cherries. Smooth, tart finish.

Bottle. Bright red, almost candy-colored, with a big, poofy, piled-high foam topping. There’s not much of an overt aroma, maybe just the barest hint of fruit here. And the drink is equally understated, certainly carrying some cherry-laden fruitiness, but it’s really quite finessed, not an over-the-top cherr pie in a glass that many krieks can be. Enjoyable. Aroma is lemony funk with obvious cherries and slight wood. Smells great. Color is clear scarlet with a slight off white pink head. Taste is subdued cherry upfront, slight sour, raspberries, really pretty simple.

Bottle. Bright red pour with pink white head. Nice juicy, natural cherry aroma. Taste is really fruity, really sweet, cherry pie/juicy but not syrupy. Medium body, light carbonation. A bit sweet for my taste, but an interesting fruit beer.

Intense red with quickly dissipating pinkish foam. Pleasent aroma of cherry gives away to a light tingly body with a rubbish dryness all around. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle. Pours Kool-Aid red, white ring. Scent of fresh cherry juice. Up front there is a rich cherry juice flavor. Followed by a layer of tart cherry flavor. Finishes with a fresh fruit character, slightly sweet. Very well blended, Very full flavored, medium bodied. (3691)

This Gorgeous cherry red colored beer has a very strong aroma of cherries. A strong sour taste finishes sweet. The kriekenbier is very well tempered by the ale they blended it with. An amazingly well put together beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Interesting. Pours a beautiful red with light white head. Smells like cherries of course. Taste is very sparkling wine, with some cherries. Not much ale. Slightly tarty finish. Good for a Kriek, but wouldn't want too much. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Pours a beautiful cherry red with a thin pink head. Aroma of cherry pie. Dough and tart cherries. Yummy. Nice tart cherry flavor. Tartness subsides and then comes a sweet finish. Good carbonation. Very cherry all over. Awesome fruit beer. Not too sweet and not too tart. Love this!
