COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a never-ending quest to create new beers and defy category, New Belgium Brewing and Brewerij Boon of Belgium have partnered together again to create Transatlantique Kriek - a spontaneously fermented lambic ale made with Polish cherries. This authentic kriek beer began life in the oaken vessels at Frank Boon’s brewery in the Lembeek region of Belgium. After more than two years aging, Boon’s offering shipped across the Atlantic and found its way to the intuitive palate of New Belgium’s Brewmaster Peter Bouckaert. After much sampling and internal consultation, Peter and his brew staff created a full-bodied golden lager to round out the light-bodied kriek. The cherry nose gives way to a pleasingly sour flash across the palate that rolls gently into a slightly sweet finish. Crisp, effervescent carbonation keeps the mouthfeel bright and delightfully tingly. Previously 6.3

Thanks to rustychiles for the share on this one. Pours an extremely clear red with small pink head. Slightly acidic and medicinal aroma, minor cherry. Taste is not what I expected. Very in-the-middle acidity and a good amount of earthiness. Fairly easy-drinking but not too exciting. Would like to taste more cherry in it.

Pours bright, bright red, almost like cranberry juice cocktail red. Little lacing along the glass. Aroma is sweet, blast of cherries (go figure). Mouthfeel is light and just a light hint of tart in the flavor. Easy drinking, probably too easy for a 8% beer!

Aroma: Light funky and fruity aroma Appearance: Red color with white foam Taste: Solid but not too strong of a sour body with a dry cherry finish Overall: Very nice refreshing light sour. Could have used a bit more malty and sour cherry funk

Clear, deep rose colored body, under a bubbly strawberry quick colored head. Aroma is champagne and cherries. Taste is sour cherry, dry cider, hint of peach, finish is sour. Palate is light, with fine, moderate carbonation. Very refreshing! Then that 8% hits your belly...the alcohol taste is invisible!

Very Cherry! This is brew has a great tartness that compliments the nice natural cherry flavor. I also like the amount of fizz as it adds just enough carbonic acid to cut the sweetness. Certainly, a treat and not an every day type of drink.

Aromas of tart cherry, acidic, some winey notes like very dry Chardonnay. Clear dark red with a mostly lasting white head. Dry, tart, acidic, somewhat funky. Light bodied.

Pours a pretty clear ruby read with a wispy pink head. Nose is tart, lots of cherry, sour apple, a bit woody, a roch of vanilla. Taste is tons of cherry, starts off more tar, then sweetens a bit, a touch of wood, a bit musky, a sherry kinda thing. Finish is cherry pie filling, then fresh cherry, and it dries out a lot. Rather lively and effervescent. Really quite good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Giant Eagle Market in Upper Arlington. Clear red pour with pink-white head that leaves a ring. Aroma is dusty cherry and wood. Tastes are lightly tart and funky cherry. Background vinegar. Drinkable and enjoyable, but probably not worth the price.

Bottle: Clear, deep red, Light persistent head with good lace. Sour red fruit. Not really classic cherry. Sour, bright and just a hint of fun. Very dry, moderately sour and medium bitterness. Moderate length. Good not great.
