3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, shared at game night, and tried alongside Abita Abbey. This was darker and less yeasty/estery, but still had nice flavours. It came across more as a spicy brown ale, probably because of the absence of yeast.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I really like this one. It’s very similar to their Abbey, except that it has a funky twist. The "wild" element is subtle but adds another dimension to the brew. You still get lots of the candy abbey like notes with a indescribable little zip on the end. There is also some faint banana notes under there from the yeast, most likely. For the price, this is quite a delicious beer... you should check it out.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear dark brown/cola color with a nice tan head. Aroma is typical of this stye. Dark fruits, candy, bready yeast, and caramel. Taste is similar, little watered down, but overall...in par with the style. I would like to do a side by side with the normal distributed abby ale and compare. I think the abby ale is slightly better. Better price point as well. Overall, a good beer. Would definitely drink again.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Carmel brown color with a light head. Smells sweet and shisandra and slight fruitiness. It tastes roasted yet sweet the shisandra comes in nice with a slight tart. Balanced, smooth and ends clean.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle into signature globe glass, bottled on 9/7/2013. Pours crystal clear ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, plum, red berry, pear, apple, clove, pepper, cinnamon, caramel, toast, candi sugar, herbal, floral, grass, light funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and unique aromas with good complexity of malt, yeast ester, and spice notes; with good strength. Taste of raisin, plum, red berry, pear, apple, toast, clove, pepper, candi sugar, cinnamon, herbal, floral, grass, light funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Slight fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, red berry, pear, apple, toast, clove, cinnamon, candi sugar, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and robustness of malt, yeast ester, and spice flavors; with a nice malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly creamy, and lightly slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice spiced dubbel style. Good balance and complexity of malt, yeast ester, and spice flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2014 Funky and fruity aromas. Smooth and silky in every sip. Earthy, malty, kinda reminds me of Cola sweetness, a slight wood finish. Meh.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aromas of clove, flowers, and dark berries. Clear, dull red with a mostly lasting khaki head. Dry, sticky, somewhat spicy, earthy, a little green, some alcohol. Medium bodied, smooth, warming in the finish. Oddly balanced, not too structured in the malt department, giving the impression of a somewhat watered-down dubbel, with a good bit of earth, and lacking in Belgian yeast complexities.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Dark brown and clear. A beige head has good retention. A funky aroma is a little like crotch along with complex fruit. The flavor has that bacteria and a little heat. Chocolate and grain. I begin to taste raisins and toffee and near the finish a hint of anise. The bacteria here is definitely different from what I have tasted in other Lips of Faith beers.
