Brown pour, nice head. The smell is slightly tart, fruity, plenty of schisandra. The flavor is real good. Has notes of juniper, cedar, and brett. Slight bubblegum aftertaste. Nothing like a dubbel but a nice brew.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler from Ale Yeah!, with much thanks to Timmy. Pours brown, with a small, tan head. Biscuit dough, cloves, light sour cherries, chocolate malts, a slight note of green chilis, and toffee. Very sweet flavor, with a light sourness, and just a hint of hop bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and sticky. This is a distinctly sour beer, but very mellow and yeasty. This is delicious, thick, and very drinkable beer. Unique, and very nice.

12/26/2013. 22 oz. bottle. Dark brown color with a tan head. Aromas of yeast, sugar, malt and spice. Peppery flavors with dark malt and dark fruit. interesting beer, but I think the peppers take over too much.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice dark brown color with an off-white head, that lingers. Sweet, dry fruit and spice aroma. Taste is soft and sweet with a light roast edge and spiced-fruity notes underneath...a touch of alcohol in the finish. This is a nice beer, but the recipe seems more complex than the flavor pofile...still good though.

22oz bomber split with Anndiesel Christmas Eve 2013. Ruby stained glass burgundy body. Steady, creamy off-white head. Quite a nice Dubbel, the shisandra berry adds a nice fruity depth, without being overbearing. Sweet candy sugar tones, big rich malt, and a the fruity depth of Trappist yeast. Bonus points for making me me aware of shisandra. Soft and delicate while being rich and sweet..what I wish New Belgium 6packs tasted like.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cherry-like fruity, sweet/sour aroma. Sweet, brown sugar malt flavor, and "musty" (for lack of a better word) Brett flavor. Cinnamon spice, and a little of the dark fruit flavor.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours clear dark copper with a creamy yellow beige head. Aroma seems spicy cinnamon. Med body or better. Flavor is somewhat toasted malt, but there’s a peppery spiciness, and cinnamon is discernible. Could be a little darkish fruit. It’s pretty drinkable, but unusual.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark ruby pour - nose of cinnamon, clove, toffee, dough, moderate earthy wild yeast character - moderate carbonation, fairly creamy texture - flavor is moderately spicy (peppery), moderately phenolic, moderate toffee sweetness, mild cinnamon and clove, very mild wild yeast character - finish is lightly warming/spicy - nothing terribly complex, but pleasant enough - certainly a step above some of the other recent LOF releases.
