How is this a Blberliner? This was all booze and offensive old yuzu fruit. No tartness to this just booze. Disappointing overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bomber pours with a thin clear gold body that supports a thin bright white head. The aroma offers up a nice load of funky skunky sweaty BO, sour yeastiness and then sugar sweetened lemon and lime mixed with wheat and grains. Lots going on but this works pretty well. The taste starts with tart lemon and lime and quickly moves into sugar sweet lime hard candy. Thereís also faint yeastiness and funk in there but the big sugary floral hops to sweet lime flavored hard candy gets in the way. Basically too much sweetness without enough to balance it out.

Tastes are lemon, white wine, orange, peach, and pleasant yeasty funk. Light to medium bodied, lively carbonation, and dry finish.

Bottle. Pours yellow with white head. Smells pineapple, dough, licorice. Has a very crazy flavor, very fruity, slight spice to it...light. Has a touch of that banana-ey Belgian taste to it, just a hint. Earthy, fruity, light. Good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
First exposure to yuzu. This is an interesting beer--more like a typical wheat than anything else. Pours a cloudy, light gold with minimal head. Aroma of fruit esters and wheat. Flavor is quite tart, with a lot of lemon to it, along with sour banana. Itís a refreshing sort of beer--more of a summer draught.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Out of the bottle: Bright and brassy golden yellow with a good amount of white foam that subsides after a minute or two. Itís got a heavy wheat aroma with some syrupy pear and grapefruit-ish notes, some caramel and barnyard funk. Quick, bitter toasty wheat opening, almost tastes like orange-pineapple, the sourness adds brightness but shoots through quickly. Some orange and funky bitterness linger, with bright (not fizzy) carbonation opening up caramel and syrupy fruit. itís delicious, just shy of sour; I say refreshing, given the 8% alcohol. Yuzu definitely comes through. Personally, my only other notable exposure to Yuzu is in ponzu sauce, where it marries wonderfully with earthy and salty soy. I think itís a very natural, though unique, pairing with wheat. Sat on this for about 3 months after purchase, in September.
