3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is sort of citrus. Med body. Flavor is mildly sour, sort of citrus. Different sort of flavor but something like citrus. Sort of. Not all that sour. Decent drink.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy, bright yellow-gold with a moderate white head that lasts a while. Notes of lemon, bread, wheat, herbs, and florals. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a tart, wheaty mouthfeel. Dry finish. Yeah, itís a big Berliner, not true to style. But itís a good beer, whatever you want to call it.

Gild pour, white head. Nose is light wheat, tart, faintly acidic. Easy palate, fruit, sour, faint wheat, and a nice finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
The whole Imperial Berliner oxymoron isnít doing it for me. This is big and sweet without the crisp dry finish I love in a good berliner. I didnít know what a yuzu was going in and I still dont, not much fruit, just odd sweetness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Ale Jail, hazy golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma of grain and some light fruit and a light tartness. Taste is quite similar, ok fruit flavor, lacking in tartness, thin body.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: Citrus, apple, floral hints
Appearance: Clean, bubbly straw with thin, lacing white head
Taste: Fruit sweetness, with a very slight citrus rind bitterness. Some very slight tartness.
Palate: Medium/light, lively mouthfeel with a smooth, dry and acidic finish.
Overall: Not bad, and fairly well integrated. Flavors donít jump out, and I was expecting a bit more tartness.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Split a 22oz bottle. Poured a fizzy, pale grey white with some light notes of yellow. Aroma was some light grain notes, strange fruit notes that must be this "yuzu." Flavor was very light, tartness - interesting fruit notes.
Iím generally more forgiving than some when it comes to a "Berliner Weisse" beer, giving a lot of leeway, partly because Iím certainly no expert on the style. However, why would someone want an Imperial Berliner Weisse? Okay, well I know someone will want anything and everything imperialized (can I get an "Imperial Mild" - if it doesnít already exist?). This beer has some notes of a Berliner, but the alcohol removes the light, refreshing angle and I think the beer could have been a heck of a lot better without the lingering alcohol notes - can they just release a 4% version?

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to my mom. Pour a clear golden yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of musty grains with sweet grains and a bit of light fruits. Flavor has a good amount of light sweet fruits and sweet grain and a hint of pine.
