3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft pour at the Local Beer Bar in Eureka, CA. Came in the glass a hazy gold color with a white head. Nose is citrus. Some funk. Medium in body. The flavor is just slightly sour and there is that citrus. Finish is like the beginning and middle which is to say sour and citrus. But not a lot of sour. Good drink.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2014 It took quite a bit of courage to order this beer. Man, I must really enjoy ticking beers. I typically loathe New Belgium beers, and this one is no exception. At least it’s overpriced. The beer is pale yellow with a small white head. Aromas of lemon, hay, sweet lemon cookies, alcohol, grain. The flavor and the feel are poor. Out of balance, overly sweet, artificial tasting. Too much alcohol for a Berliner, lacking all of the qualities that can make this style so delectable. Another gimicky, bullshit beer from New Belgium, where sales take precedence over quality.

On tap at Duke st whole foods. Pours a clear dishwater yellow with quicu fading head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is sweet yeast, corn and slight tang. Fire alarm went off at this point. Flavor is mild and overall out of balance.

Draft at ChurchKey, thanks solidfunk! Hazy yellow color with off-white head. Aromas of lemon, herbs, floral notes. Tasting notes of lemon and herbs mostly, some floral notes and citrus, very light tartness. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Doesn’t taste like a Berliner weisse. More like a said on with fruit juice. Pours golden with OK head and lacing. Finishes sweet and sour, though both are light. Tap at Churchkey.

Tried twice, both bottles poured into pint glasses. First bottle was amazingly crisp and citrusy with just enough sourness to make it interesting and different. Second bottle fell a bit flat and was more like an average unfiltered wheat. I suspect handling issues were at play with the second bottle.

On tap at New Belgium. Appearance: small white head, yellow color, cloudy, poor to moderate lacing. Aroma: light citrus, wheat, fruity. Palate: light body, average carbonation, sticky texture. Taste: sweet with very light tartness. Overall, nothing amazing, but unique and decent balance.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle poured into pint glass. Pours a hazy light citrus yellow. Aromas of wheat , lacto and citrus. Flavor is muted but is akin to a lighter citrusier blue moon. Not awful. But not spectacular.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Town Hall Lanes. Semi-hazy golden pour with a white head. Fruity sweet nose and taste. Slightly tart, slightly dry. Seems to take care of a salt craving too. Decent brew.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best of the series for me no doubt! Pours deep straw somewhat cloudy with a creamy white head. Aroma is awesome, tart and some green ale sweetness up front and then funk that blend so well. Flavor brings some tartness and light tang, but not big like the aroma. Lacto is much nice in the nose, underdeveloped in the body. The tang could have been enhanced by the yuzu.
