COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Yuzu is a strange fruit- citrusy and bold. Those three words: strange, citrus and bold are the perfect beginnings for a great beer. So, our brewers paired yuzu with the sourness of a Berlinerweiss to create this beerlicious Yuzu Berlinerweiss. Brewed with pale malt and wheat this Berlinerwiess was acidified with Lactobacillus for a light, dry mouthfeel and tart refreshment. Hazy and straw-colored, the yuzu fruit brings a tropical charm to a traditional beer.

Tap at Fiddlers, NW Harvest Auction night 2013

Just when I’ve decided to stop wasting my time, money, calories, and alcohol consumption on NB Lips of Faith series beers, one comes along on tap that tastes pretty nice in that first taster sip. Cloudy pour, a training-wheels sour. Wheaty, mild citrus, lactobaccilus. Entirely drinkable as a first beer, but a bit disappointing when following a good dry pils. Why is this 8%? It should be more like 4% given the style (imperial berlinnerweisse? Give me a break!) and what for all that is going on.

This beer was disappointing. The finish is very weak. This tastes more like a regular wheat beer than a berliner weisse. Bottle.

Bottle I split with Jenny after she found out weather delayed her flight out for another day... good news! Pours a cloudy matte light gold with medium white head. Aroma is cooked banana, tropical fruit, slight edamame vegetal character. Banana, passionfruit, and blue raspberry candy up front with some vegetal notes in back. Slightly frothy, wheaty finish with permeating banana fruit smoothie. No real tartness or dryness to speak of. There’s no Berlinerweiss here. It seems more like a fruited hefeweizen.

22oz bomber. Hazy beige-orange body. Foamy, glass lacing head. Sweet aroma, with a touch of citrus. Doesn’t really come off as a Berliner Weisse, but you get that lactic undertone. Sweet and sugary, more like a Belgian Golden Ale or Tripel. Some pungent island fruit tones. Unique and enjoyable enough, but a little letdown with the overall product..has an artificial edge, the yuzu needs a little more of a zesty bite...something you probably aren’t going to get on a macro scale. The sweet sugary wheat is actually quite reminiscent of their Dunkelweizen.

Bomber from a trade with jdb288. This beer is very clear and white gold. A white fluffy head. Visible carbonation is moderate. Lacto, spice, and fruit are smelled. Some unique fruit in the flavor. It is passion in front with some citrus. Malts here are pale and are surprisingly big and smooth. Somehow I taste oranges and peaches but honestly, the fruit is all over the place. This is quite different and could almost be a Dogfish beer.

Tap - fair size foamy head, medium clear straw color, citrusy tart aroma and flavor, light bodied, very refreshing, very good for this style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bomber. Hazy pale gold with a decent sized white head. Aroma is of peach juice, peach skin, pineapple, light tartness, and grain. Taste is of lemons, herbs, tea, a hint of tart, and grain. I would not guess that this is a Berliner Weiss...too sweet and not very tart at all.

Bottle. The look is a whitish head, hazy, and golden in color. The smell is fruity, pears, flowers, cactus, and tart. The taste is sweet, too sweet for style, fruits, tea, Arnold Palmer, kool aid.

A high alcohol berliner with lots of citrus. Hazy yellow. Nose was very lemony, grassy, and tart. The taste was had a wheat base that is both sweet and sour.. Very juicy and soft mouthfeel. Still kind of disappointed.

Bottle. Yellow pour with white head. Sour tart fruit aromas. Lacto and Brett with some citrus flavors. High ABV Berliner?
