Yuzu is a strange fruit- citrusy and bold. Those three words: strange, citrus and bold are the perfect beginnings for a great beer. So, our brewers paired yuzu with the sourness of a Berlinerweiss to create this beerlicious Yuzu Berlinerweiss. Brewed with pale malt and wheat this Berlinerwiess was acidified with Lactobacillus for a light, dry mouthfeel and tart refreshment. Hazy and straw-colored, the yuzu fruit brings a tropical charm to a traditional beer.

Smells and tastes like hay and sour citrusy fruit. Refreshing even at 8%, though I think it would have been cooler at a more traditional abv, like 4 or so. Dry and lightly funky and sweet. Cool one timer

Pours an extremely hazy golden yellow with very little white head. Aroma of bitter lemon, wheat, and some barnyard funk. Initial sweet and sour lemon taste that's quickly followed by wheat notes. All flavors quickly dissipate leaving a dry feeling on the palate. Not as sour as expected and not much complexity. An easy drinker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Poured hazy light yellow color with an small to average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate wheat and citrus aroma. Medium body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting beer and soft for style.

Draught. The overall profile has some of the BW elements I enjoy in the summer time. The yuzu piece did not balance out well though.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear yellow with a white foamy meringue head. Aroma is musty, flowers, lemon, sage, yeast funk, and artificial pine/turpentine. Taste is lemon candy, slight tartness, funky yeast, peppery spice, pine-sol, and earwaxy bitterness. Falls flat on the edges. Dry, flabby, seltzery fizziness. Not very enjoyable.

Very mild, faint aroma of sour fruits and maybe just a bit of yeast. Golden body with tiny white bubbles and constant effervescence. Light flavors of what I am guessing is the yuzu juice or maybe lemons and some bitterness near the finish. Very light and bubbly and nice on a hot summer evening.

bottle - This hazy gold beer has an aroma of citrus, earth, and dirty sock. Yes, dirty sock. The flavor is sweet, fruity, and tart. It has a very bubbly medium body. Interesting beer. It’s pretty good though I wish it smelled a little better.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Pours hazy golden wilth small white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is tart, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is tart, tropical fruit, odd off herbal, and slightly bitter finish. Why do I buy New Belgium, not worth the price.

Pours a hazy light golden with an active head. Nose is sour, lemon, barnyard, funky, wheat. Taste is lemony, barnyard, funk, grains but not bready, a little orangy, smells much more sour than it is, aftertaste is not great and lingers. Neither dry not sweet, in the middle. Has some decent body, pretty smooth. Don't love it. It's not a crisp or fresh, granted this is kinda an old bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
