Commercial Description:
Deep burnished gold with a slight haze, Le Fleur Misseur opens with pineapple, clove and honey notes. Dry-hopping produces a flower leaf aroma supported by tones of fresh bread and honey. Le Fleur finishes dry and slightly herbal. Produced for New Belgium coworkers to celebrate our 15th anniversary, Le Fleur has roots in the earliest days of our history. In 1988 founder Jeff Lebesch sat weary on the side of a Belgian road when a young lad passing by picked a delicate yellow flower and offered it to Jeff. “Le Fleur, Misseur?” Jeff misspelled the boy’s comment in his journal as he accepted the offering. A treasured memory, a beer to treasure. Brewed in honor of the New Belgium’s 15th anniversary. It is a tip of the hat to Orval.

Bomber. Slightly lemony, farty, cheese aroma. Nice, dryish, bitter, lavender flavor, with a bit of chemicals in the finish. An Orval clone, I guess, but not particularly well executed.

Blonde with good, creamy white head / Lovely, perfumey, nose of bread, lemon, violets, and lemongrass / Light to medium body, creamy, with excellent balance and slightly hoppy finish / Mellow, smooth, resinous flavors of lemongrass, pineapple, violets, cloves, marjoram, coriander, and cream / A blonde ale? Outstanding.

22oz bomber, no date.Clear golden with a one finger off-white head, good retention. Fruity (pineapple), floral, and lightly herbal hoppy nose with some faint lemon and Belgian yeast behind. The flavor had hoppier herbal notes with the florals a little diminished. Not as much pineapple, either. Semi-dry earthy finish with bitterness @ a 3. Light to medium body with light prickly carbonation. Would like to revisit this once the brett kicks in more with the flavor.

Bottle. Cloudy look with a nice foamy white head. Golden yellow in color. The smell is yeast, citrus, floral, hops, and pear. The taste is yeasty, hops, floral, citrus, and fruits. Ok.

On tap at the brewery 7/18/09. Pours a hazy gold with great lacing, little head. Beautiful aromatic blend of floral and citrus hops, with a mild hint of spice. Taste has a touch of sweet and sour, then a blended bitter clean finish. Very smooth and drinkable, though not too complex.

Golden pour with quickly diminishing white head. Bretty aroma of citrus, marshmallows, dandelions. Some earth. Flavor is a bit funky, with grass and hay. Some spice, a bit of floral hops. Some herbs in the finish. Pretty nice.

My 22 oz bottle looked different from the c&c one pictured here and was marked Lips of Faith. It poured a cloudy golden color with a fat white head and moderate lacing. Nose is spicy, with coriander and floral hops. Medium but somewhat oily mouthfeel. Flavor is on sweet and dry side with some citrus flavors, and the finish is dry as well.

( 22oz bomber thanks to ballewblake) Pours a pale yellow with oily bubbles, head and coats the glass very well. Nose is coriander, brett, funk but lightly so and very herbal. Taste is more coriander, brett, lightly crisp hops, with an oily body and nice velvety carbonation.
