| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Bomber, "Lips of Faith" - hazy light golden beer, some fizzy lace - quite a complex aroma that opens with a strong mix of herbs and wildflowers, followed by some tropical fruits, and a rustic, wild character - semi-dry, with pineapple and peach up front - wildflowers and toasted grains - just enough of a funky brett character to make it interesting, but it remains subdued - I would like it to be a little more developed, in order to dry the beer out, because the sweetness kind of distracts from the other nuances of the beer - not as much as in the BdM, so I’m enjoying this a lot more, but NB seems to have trouble making a nicely dry beer. dwyerpg (2529), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 14, 2009 I think this has a quite excellent floral light citrus aroma. The flavor is certainly on the light end, but is also quite distinctly defined, with a pleasant light dry hop finish. Good stuff. legion242 (1578), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Amazingly pedestrian. Tasted sort of like a milky saison. What could possibly be all the fuss. For $3 less, I could have had a Hennipen and much more satisfied. I am scared to try the Mars now, ’cause it was once a favourite of mine. nickd717 (1341), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottle from Whole Foods in Los Altos. They compare this to Orval on the description...um...riiiight. Hazy golden-straw color with a well-formed white head. Aroma of pale malt, yeast, and maybe a little brett. Flavor not too exciting overall - slightly sweet pale malt, citrus, and some floral hops. Fairly light on the palate. Not very exciting overall. mmmbeer (746), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2009 Isn’t that cute, a beer named in French? Let’s hope the true Northern MI in me and the bootleg LA holds up, I need to work on this: Well, laisse-moi!
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2009 On tap at Brouwer’s Tour de Fat afterparty. Pours cloudy golden yellow with a decent white head. Aroma is a little bandaid funk, a little booze, cloves, and some sort of herbal thing that I couldn’t really place. Dandelions? Taste adds some bitter unripe orange. Mild aspirin bitterness in the taste and finish. carruthm (1125), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Cloudy light orange lots of floral bitters. Smooth palate but lacking subtlety in aroma. Dominated by the floral notes. chicagodri (1041), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a off white head. Aroma is sweet, with a little bit of citrus as well. I had a very similar beer @ Goose Island last night. Rather plain beer though.
